INTRO:
Understanding the total depravity of man, is necessary if we are to truly understand the Grace of God.
And our need for Repentance from that depravity and Dependance on the Grace and Mercy of our Heavenly Father.
What remains in view here is our need to evaluate our lives on a regular basis.
So that we may continue to be alert to possible false teachings and to diligently seek out the Truth found only in the Word of God.
When approached properly, this passage can be a dynamic key in Evangelism as we Witness to the lost and dying world around us.
The blatant sin we see in society, today, reveals our need for Jesus Christ as the one true source of Salvation, Transformation and finding true peace for troubled souls.
This same sin nature also serves to emphasis the Grace of God-
Which can only be fully realized through knowledge and acceptance of Jesus as the one true source of Redemption from sin.
So, we begin with:
1- Arrogance against Authority
1- Arrogance against Authority
Whereas angels, though greater in might and power, do not pronounce a blasphemous judgment against them before the Lord.
But these, like irrational animals, creatures of instinct, born to be caught and destroyed, blaspheming about matters of which they are ignorant, will also be destroyed in their destruction, suffering wrong as the wage for their wrongdoing.
They count it pleasure to revel in the daytime. They are blots and blemishes, reveling in their deceptions, while they feast with you.
They have eyes full of adultery, insatiable for sin.
They entice unsteady souls.
They have hearts trained in greed. Accursed children!
We need to start with 2 Peter 2:10
and especially those who indulge in the lust of defiling passion and despise authority.
Bold and willful, they do not tremble as they blaspheme the glorious ones,
Peter’s continued theme here is the real audacity and pride of the false teachers of his day.
His point is that even the Angels in Heaven do not speak judgements on the fallen angels.
Judgement is reserved for God in Heaven.
