The Silent God Who Makes A Lot Of Noise

I want to talk to you tonight about a silent  who makes a lot of noise. You’ve heard the scriptures

Revelation 12:11 (KJV 1900)

11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

I remember when the Lord spoke directly to me in a distinct voice. There was very clear instruction in that moment given to me and revelation that I’m still unpacking to this day. I often think back at that moment and wonder when will God speak to me like that again? I often look back at that moment  wonder did he only speak to me in that way because I was so far off? Is he not speaking to those that actively  draw close to him as the scriptures suggest?

James 4:8 (KJV 1900)

8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.

Why does it seem at times that God would reach further and deeper for the one that has strayed away than the 99 that have stayed close. He loves the lost. But why is it that even when we are considered to be found, we can find ourselves in a place where we don’t recognize God around us and in our lives?

The reason I say he’s a silent but makes a lot of noise is because we don’t always hear him. We don’t always feel him. We don’t always see him, but he’s making a lot of noise around us.

If I had a blindfold on my eyes right now and all everyone in this room started moving around without saying anything I might be inclined to say for a bunch of quiet people you sure are making a lot of noise.

INDICATORS THAT GOD IS THERE

At this moment in my life and perhaps for some of you tonight, it feels like God is quiet, but I know he’s there. I know he’s there from the blessings that I have. The Bible says…

Matthew 5:5 (KJV 1900)

5  Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

Not only that but I know he’s there from the breath in my body every day.

The Bible says his mercy is new every morning.

Lamentations 3:22–23 (KJV 1900)

22  It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

23  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

I know he is there because I’m living in his promise every day and the Bible says the promises of God are yes and amen.

2 Corinthians 1:20 (KJV 1900)

20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

That scripture tells me that the promises of God are yes in agreement and amen in conclusion. In other words, God comes into agreement with his promise in our lives and it is finished. Whatever he said he was going to do whatever he said we would do and there is an agreement made, and  a conclusion to that agreement. It will happen. It is complete, yes and amen the silent  God who makes a lot of noise… is God silent to you? Do you feel his presence and proximity?

These are real questions tonight for all of us to consider.

As you know we just started our season of prayer and fasting.

I’ve recently switched my typical day for fasting to shake myself from the routine I was used to. At one point or another it became routine for me. It became habitual almost religious. And also the thought of being at work and not actively devoting my mind and attention to the study of his word or in deeper prayer felt like my fasting was in vain.

A goal I’m trying to live up to is giving all of myself to one thing at a time however that may not be realistic because of what God has shown us in scripture. We serve a God who multitasks infinitely. He’s able to show up for me and show up for you at the exact same time. He’s able to influence war between rival countries and be a humanitarian aid for others. This is a contradicting God why would he behave that way? If there’s one thing I learned is that God is dedicated to getting his way. I’ve strayed away from labeling God to understanding what the scripture says is true about him.

The silent God that makes a lot of noise.

What am I talking about tonight? What I’m trying to convey to  is that in this season of prayer fasting I believe some of you probably will feel how I’m feeling and that is that you know God is  working in your life. You know his hand of mercy and favor is upon you, but you don’t really feel him anybody reciprocating that tonight? You may not be in this place right now but I’m confident at one point or another in this journey, we will feel an absent presence of God. What is our greatest example of this? Somebody say show me the proof show me the proof. Show me the Carfax. Jesus cried out…

Matthew 27:46 (KJV 1900)

46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Have you left me all alone to die to bear the sins of the world on my own. Have you brought me this far just to walk away where are you in my time of need we know the Bible says he’s a present  help in the time of need but where is he now? I’m trying to help somebody understand tonight that although he may seem silent… he is making a lot of noise. You and I may not always feel his presence But I know he’s there.

TESTIFY CHRIS AND ELIZABETH

I know he’s there because I got pulled over for speeding on Friday at work. Understandably, I was upset at   else to blame. I’m the  of the vehicle but thinking back at perhaps I would’ve taken somebody’s life if I didn’t get pulled over. Maybe I would’ve severely injured myself if that officer hadn’t pulled me over.

You see it’s not always about doing wrong and because you got away with it everything is OK no this silent God who makes a lot of noise doesn’t want that from us. He wants us to be diligent and  what I’m trying to convey tonight is that God is not always speaking audibly to us but undoubtedly happening all around us, he is moving on our behalf. He is executing his biblical plan. He is getting the feast ready. He is getting the arrangement ready for this glorious day of the Lord. He may not be saying a lot verbally but he is moving around us making noise in the heavens and the earth.

His noise in the Earth can be hear through the warring countries all over this land. His noise in the Earth can be heard through the gossip, backlash and slander that goes on around us. You may say Bro Chris those things are not of God oh but they sre are apart of his plan arent they?

He’s making so much noise in the  that people who are  waking up. He’s making so much noise in the spirit that the whole of the church is getting ready to stand at attention. 

What is that noise of heaven? Holy holy holy are you Lord.

I wish at the snap of my finger I could hear the voice of God I wish I could just meander through and his presence would linger upon me, but that’s not how it works guys.

What we have to realize is that God will speak to us but it requires something on our end. We should be asking what does thou require of me? What do you require of me now God?

When I was dating my wife I had a certain level of responsibility as a boyfriend. When I  to my wife, I had a certain level of responsibility as a fiancé when I married my wife, I now have a certain responsibility as a husband, and while in those different stages, I may not have said a lot of words, but my actions have shown my presence was always there as a boyfriend, fiancé, , my  a boyfriend might’ve looked like hanging out or  acquainted with the family my presence and my actions as a fiancé might’ve looked like wedding arrangements and living arrangements and careful thought and consideration for our future.

My presence  as a husband has to be providing   uplifting, loving, caring, honoring, and including. If I don’t say another word to my wife in our home, she should still know I’m there from my actions and what I’m doing now we all know what would happen if I never   her, but she should know I’m there. My presence is here because the house is clean. The trash is taken care of the dishes are  is folded. There’s money in the account. There’s food in the refrigerator. The lights are   bed is clean. My actions are showing her that I’m still there and I believe that’s what God is trying to say to me and to some of you tonight.

Look at your surroundings and rest assured that he is still there and he is working on your behalf.

***I had a hard time figuring out what to say tonight I don’t want to lean on the  resources by default. I’m really trying my best here to be spirit lead and just say God these people belong to you. I’m just the next mediator. What do you want me to do and I feel tonight that I just have to be honest with you guys and say I don’t I don’t feel him or hear him  I used to right now and perhaps a part of that is I’m so busy in my life at this moment perhaps a part of that is my mind is taken up by so many other things perhaps a part of that is life getting in the way, but at the end of the day, I know God is still there he is his mercy has not run out on me. His favor has not left me. His love has not left me and it hasn’t left you either. But what are we supposed to do  to engage with this silent who’s making a lot of noise around us where we know his presence is there, but we can always hear him or feel him.

What do we do well there was a sermon priest about  a different vantage point in our spiritual . And I believe  what we must do we can do so much  the boyfriend, fiancé and husband stages of our relationship with God but when we   we have to we have to adapt. There’s a saying that  stop doing what you did to get here. Don’t stop doing what got you here now some of you might be thinking OK  that’s just for you because you’re serving a ministry and you’re  of a public figure at the church. That’s a lie. Each and every one of us is coming to a different vantage point in our relationship with God. Maybe at this moment, God is  to go deeper. Maybe at this moment God is  us to rise above. Maybe at this moment God is saying I’m tired of this surface  with you. Maybe at this  God is saying I’ve given all that I can give at this level in our relationship, but there is more for you to receive if you’ll go further he’s a silent  in the essence of verbal   doesn’t talk a lot at least to me, but his presence is there abundantly. How else do we know the scripture?

The Bible says we’re sent Bounds grace of bounds even more so that is proof that if sin exist which we know sin is running rampant here then God‘s grace has to  to this word it has to abound even more so that should tell us that however crazy this world is that’s grace is even larger than that but no surprise because it’s his grace that is giving us time is giving us time to turn from our wicked ways and to serve him with all our heart it’s no surprise that his grace  more than  because his grace is covering  while we have a chance to repent but at one point or another in this near future that grace will be done away with and his judgment seat will be  what I’m saying tonight is he’s a silent  verbally but he’s he’s doing a lot and making a lot of noise around us to let us know. He’s very much so still here. He’s very much so still in control. He’s very much so still the author he’s very much so still the creator. He’s very much so still God, Almighty  flesh unto whom nothing is impossible or too hard. He’s still very much so that same God that we in different moments feel so closely but what we have to remember as well as that God is not human. At least not now he’s he’s  he’s his spirit  so he’s not gonna talk like I’m talking to you always but maybe he will through prophetic dream or  or utterance from someone else what I’m trying to say tonight is that as we  season of prayer and fasting we should position ourselves to hear from God, not in the ways that we would normally expect but to hear from God  the noise he’s making around us. Of course his word is our primary source and  word of God for the  body to be identified but also what is he doing around you look around look at your surroundings what is God doing? When I  my surroundings I can see where God is bringing me. I can see I can see what’s coming for me and if I’m honest right now it’s not fun, but it’s not about it being fun. It’s not  being   about me saying  and trusting God with the rest and so for all of us  I just  encourage us during the season of  fasting to say  day or time  trust God with the  what is he doing and saying around you because he is speaking, he is speaking and he’s making a lot of noise the silent God that makes a lot of noise
