Introducción

When someone is going to travel you need an ID Card to gain access.
We also have personal identities. Who you truly are in the inside.
When a person has identity there is:
clarity
confidence
makes good decisions
has strength
When true identity is not known there is confusion.
Where true identity is not accepted:
Relational tension
False narratives
The enemy has always tried to take away our identity.
He will stop at nothing to rob you of the true sense of identity.
Out of all the people in the world, Jesus has had the most attack on His identity.
False religions have tried and keep trying.
Atheist keep trying.
They do not attack His existence, but His deity.
Today there are conversations on the identity of Jesus.
Recap that Jesus was questioned by Pharisees, Herodians, and Sadducees.
What did Jesus teach us?
Sometimes we have rebellious hearts.
No submission to authority.
We do have life after death.
We have hope.

Marcos 12:35

Y tomando la palabra, Jesús decía mientras enseñaba en el templo:

El buen uso de tu plataforma

What do you use your “status quo” for?
Jesus used his platform to teach the Word.
Focused on the reason you entered the temple
We say we come to praise but,
We don’t get along.
Wea have barriers with each other because we have picked sides and neither of those sides is the Kingdom of God.
We don’t forgive.
We forget that there are 2 commandments. We “know” how to honor God, but we don’t like to honor our neighbor.
We need to come to honor God and bless our neighbor.
Jesus is leading by example teaching us that when you come to the temple you need to focus.

Grupos que se levantan en la iglesia

Mark says a multitude, but Mathew describes that the Pharisees are there conspiring.
Not all church circles that rise up are from God.

Hijo de David

Marcos 12:35

¿Por qué dicen los escribas que el Cristo es hijo de David?

Explain what Christ (Messiah) means.
¿What does son of David mean?
What kind of Messiah were they waiting for?

Marcos 12:36

David mismo dijo por el Espíritu Santo: “El Señor dijo a mi Señor: ‘Siéntate a mi diestra, hasta que ponga a tus enemigos debajo de tus pies.’”

Explain de Hebrew terms for Lord and Lord.
Lord = Yahweh
Lord = Adonai
Two distinct persons but both divine.

Marcos 12:37

David mismo lo llama “Señor”. ¿En qué sentido es, pues, su hijo? Y la gran multitud le escuchaba con gusto.

They were waiting for a military leader, but they received something better, God with us.
Jesus was teaching that the Messiah was a man but divine.
They were looking for a man as many times we do also.
We like the words of a man, but not the words of God.
How many of you like to read your Bible?

Su gracia se acabará

Until all your enemies are under your feet.
Let them mock you. There will come a day.

¿Cómo lo supo David?

The Spirit of God.
Bible is divinely inspired:
Over 40 authors
About 1,500 to 2,000 period of time in writings
Authors were:
kings, prophets, priests, fisherman
All point to Jesus.

¿Por qué explicar esto?

To let you know you can trust in the Bible.
David knew it in his spirit.

¿Por qué Jesús explicó esto?

This was their last chance for repentance.
Jesus knew his identity.
Matthew says it that, from that day no one dared question Him again.
How do you shut your enemy up? With the Word of God.
