Who Corrupted The Gospel?

This is about what Islam really teaches about Allah and Jesus.

1. The Quran believes Jesus was a prophet of Islam

No Muslim will deny this and will claim they love Jesus more than Christians!

Surah 42:13 - He has ordained for you of religion what He enjoined upon Noah and that which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what We enjoined upon Abraham and Moses and Jesus - to establish the religion and not be divided therein. Difficult for those who associate others with Allah is that to which you invite them. Allah chooses for Himself whom He wills and guides to Himself whoever turns back [to Him].

2. The Quran says a number of Jesus listeners became Muslims

Jesus had a number of followers who became followers of Islam including the disciples. There is no doubt what the Quran claims.

Surah 3:52 - But when Jesus felt [persistence in] disbelief from them, he said, "Who are my supporters for [the cause of] Allah?" The disciples said, "We are supporters for Allah. We have believed in Allah and testify that we are Muslims [submitting to Him].

Surah 5:111 - And [remember] when I inspired to the disciples, "Believe in Me and in My messenger Jesus." They said, "We have believed, so bear witness that indeed we are Muslims [in submission to Allah]."

3. The Quran says Jesus and his followers will be superior to unbelievers until the Day of Resurrection

This does seem to suggest that Jesus died and was raised up. Even so Jesus is taken away by Allah and not to worry as he will make them superior. How could they have gone completely astry by the Apostle Paul or anyone else?

Surah 3:55 - ˹Remember˺ when Allah said, “O Jesus! I will take you1 and raise you up to Myself. I will deliver you from those who disbelieve, and elevate your followers above the disbelievers until the Day of Judgment. Then to Me you will ˹all˺ return, and I will settle all your disputes.

4. If there were any First-Century Jews who converted to Islam after hearing Jesus preach, they didn’t last very long

There is zero evidence of Muslims who believed what Muslims believe in practice and theology. If they existed even for a short-time they made no huge impact of the world because we can’t find them.

This is a historical fact and if a Muslim disagrees then ask to show us these Muslim follower of Jesus as we would be interested in readign about them.

5. The Quran says that Allah helped Jesus’ followers gain the upper hand over the Jews who rejected Jesus.

Jesus is preaching and his disciples and the Quran says Allah helped them until they became the uppermost.

Surah 61:14 - “O believers! Stand up for Allah, as Jesus, son of Mary, asked the disciples, “Who will stand up with me for Allah?” The disciples replied, “We will stand up for Allah.” Then a group from the Children of Israel believed while another disbelieved. We then supported the believers against their enemies, so they prevailed.”

Commentaries on this verse will tell you that this is the followers of Jesus permeating the Roman Empire and taking over. We knwo what those Christians believed and it wasn’t Islam.

6. The Only Followers who ever became more powerful than the Jews were Christians who believed in the Jesus’ death, resurrection and deity.

This is a historical fact. If you want to believe that they were Muslims who

denied the Trinity,

denied Jesus was crucified and resurrected from the dead

denied Jesus was God

You can believe that but they definitely didn’t become uppermost. They would be joining a number of false offshoots that denied these things and didn’t last to become uppermost. You also can find zero historical evidence for the existence of Muslims before the time of Mohammad.

Even Yusuf Ali in his commentary on Surah 61:14 recognises that Christianity became dominant in the Roman Empire before Islam. This shows that Allah supported Christianity as the true religion. We know exactly what the Christianity at the time of the Roman Empire looked like. It was the same core doctrine as today.

7. The Quran states that the Injil (Gospel) was given as a Guidance for Mankind

Allah had a plan for the Torah and the Gospel to be used as a guide. The guidance is for all mankind.

Surah 3:3-4 - “He sent down to you the Book with the Truth, confirming what came before it; and He sent down the Torah and the Gospel. Aforetime, as guidance for mankind; and He sent down the Criterion. Those who have rejected God’s signs will have a severe punishment. God is Mighty, Able to take revenge”

8. The Quran states that Christians still posessed the Gospel during Muhammad’s time

The Gospel was never corrupted according to the Quran. Allah’s words can’t be corrupted but that is what Muslims say about the Bible.

Surah 18:27 - Recite what has been revealed to you from the Book of your Lord. None can change His Words, nor can you find any refuge besides Him.

Surah 7:157 - “˹They are˺ the ones who follow the Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whose description they find in their Torah and the Gospel. He commands them to do good and forbids them from evil, permits for them what is lawful and forbids to them what is impure, and relieves them from their burdens and the shackles that bound them. ˹Only˺ those who believe in him, honour and support him, and follow the light sent down to him will be successful.”

Surah 5:47 - “So let the people of the Gospel judge by what Allah has revealed in it. And those who do not judge by what Allah has revealed are ˹truly˺ the rebellious.”

Surah 5:68 - “Say, O People of the Scripture, you are [standing] on nothing until you uphold [the law of] the Torah, the Gospel, and what has been revealed to you from your Lord.” And that which has been revealed to you from your Lord will surely increase many of them in transgression and disbelief. So do not grieve over the disbelieving people.”

Christians are to judge by the Gospel or they are rebels. We need to have the Gospel to be ablt to judge by it. Allah revealed Scriptures to different groups and they are supposed to align up. The Quran doesn’t align up! The Quran seems to think that it does! Allah is the world’s worst communicator if Christians are supposed to just follow what Mohammad says as their scriptures have been corrupted. To obey Allah, Jews and Christians need to follow the Torah and the Gospel.

9. If there was a First Century Gospel fundamentally different from the New Testamant it was corrupted immediately or lost entirely

This first century gospel given to Jesus that talked about Islam cannot be produced by Muslims. If this happened then Allah failed to preserve his revelation in record time.

10. According to Islam, Allah tricked the Jews into believing that they had crucified Jesus

The majority of Muslims would believe that Jesus was not crucified and died. Allah miraculously disguised someone else to appear like Jesus but really some other person. The most common substitute is Judas but others are mentioned.

Surah 4:157-158 - And [for] their saying, 'Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah.' And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. Rather, Allah raised him to Himself. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise."

There are a minority of Muslims who believe this is a boasting by the Jews that they didn’t have victory over Jesus. If this was a trick by Allah then we have two billion people on the planet calling themselves Christians today believing Jesus was crucified.

Assuming the Muslim view is correct...

Question #1 - What happened to Jesus’ Muslim followers?

Where are all these people who followed Islam? You can’t say they continued because there is no history of them existing in the 1st to 6th centuries. If this is true then Muslims should be able to provide an honest answer.

Question #2 - Why would Allah lead Jesus’ followers astray and destroy everything Jesus had worked so hard to accomplish?

Where did Christians get the idea that Jesus died by crucifixion. It is mentioned in the Quran so Muslims are forced to say it was corrupted. Then who corrupted it? Paul? No. COuncil of Nicea? No. It was corrupted by Allah himself! Why would he do that? Jesus is the Word for Allah, He is the Spirit from Allah, He is the Messiah according to the Quran. He then leads all the followers of Jesus astray. Everyone believes Jesus was crucified apart from Muslims. Muslims are forced to say that Allah knows best.

Question #3 - Why did Allah tell Jesus that his followers would be superior until the day of resurrection?

This is related to Allah leading them astray. If Allah knows that he is going to make them superior until the day of resurrection then why does he then lead them astray about the crucifixion? If Allah knows he is going to trick them, why does he tell Jesus not to worry, he is going to make Jesus’ followers superior until the day of resurrection? He knows he is about to lead them astray or he doen’t know what is about to happen or changes his mind.

Question #4 - If the Gospel was given as guidance to mankind, why did Allah not preserve it?

If the Gospel was corrupted it was Allah who started this new heresay that completely contradicts the previous one.

Question #5 - If the Gospel was corrupted so quickly, why does Allah say they had it at the time of Mohammad?

If it was still available at the time of Mohammad it was corrupted. Yet Allah treats it as if it is good as gold. It is confusing and you ask how can anyone believe it.

Question #6 - If Allah is powerless to stop people from corrupting his message, can we even trust the Quran?

Allah says no one can changes his words that are a guidance to mankind. Muslims say it was changed by Paul, Council of Nicea or some other human agent. Can people overpower Allah? It must be if Allah can’t keep it. If he can’t preserve his old book, then how can he preserve his new book.

Question #7 - Once the Christian heresy started, why did Allah help them rise to power?

Allah allows the corruption and the Christians become dominant. Did he help the wrong people or were they the true followers of Jesus? Did Allah make a mistake?

Question #8 - If Allah deceives followers of his prophets, then how do Muslims know he isn’t deceiving them?

Christians are following a prophet of Allah but Allah tricks his prophet and followers. How do you know he does’t have a reason to trick Muslims? Allah could be a cosmic trickster who deceives people. He could have sent Mohammad to deceive the Arabs like the Jews and Christians.

Question #9 - What if anything did Jesus accomplish?

If Allah tricked the followers of Jesus and his message was completely corrupted what was the point of Jesus being a prophet in Islam? Islam says it honour Jesus more than Christians. It is nonsense.

Question #10 - How does this compare with the Christian view?

According to Christianity, Jesus accomplishes everything He set out to do. His disciples go out and changes the world with those he picked to share the good news. The Islam view of Jesus was a complete failure being led astray by Allah’s deception. The Islamic perspective is a satanic perversion of the true Gospel message of Jesus. We know what Jesus taught from Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. We know that false prophets will come and lead people away from the gospel. This is what Mohammad and Islam does 600 later. They take dead prophets and “baptise” them as Muslims. They take the ministry of Jesus and pervert it.
