Game Day Draft
Game Day Draft
Introduction
As we start our new sermon Series this week we are going to be jumping into a world that most of us have been apart of for sometime and that is the sports world. We are going to be looking at God’s Game day roster seeing all the bible verses that he would put into certain positions help the team clench the victory title. Like any sports season the first thing that we have got to start with is a draft choosing the players that show promise to help the team achieve the goal of the win this year.
The Question is what would of draft day verse be when choosing candidate's to be on our team.
8 And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.” 9 And he said, “Go, and say to this people:
“ ‘Keep on hearing, but do not understand;
keep on seeing, but do not perceive.’
context
God does not called you because you are qualified he calls you to qualify you. ( Go Back to Verse 5-7)
Proverbs–Isaiah (2) Purification and Commission (6:6–13)
The climax to Isaiah’s vision comes in v. 8. The touch of the burning coal had made him a new man. To his vision of God, of himself, and of redeeming grace, there was now added a further vision, the vision of world in need of his ministry. The consequence of his being cleansed and forgiven was something unique in the experience of the prophets. Instead of pleading his inadequacy, as Moses and Jeremiah did, he volunteered to be sent, even before he knew the nature of his mission. He was so overwhelmed with a sense of gratitude that he was willing to place himself completely in God’s hands. God had taken care of his past; he could have his future.
Broadman's bible commentary
The Sunday worship service alone does not qualify as serving the Lord. ( Worshipping together is a requirement not volunteer being a servant is give a for a sacrifice from your free time. ) Ex: a Worship leader learning a new song for worship.
The Strongest point a Christian can be in is a position of yes for the Lord. ( It is not about our presences or our feelings it is about what the lord calls us to do. ) Position of Yes look like kneeling with arms opened wide. Ladder servants
