Joshua, as a type of Christ, points forward to the leader who provides ultimate confidence and assurance to believers.
Big Idea: Our past does not dictate our future; through God’s promises and presence, we can step boldly into the challenges ahead with unwavering confidence and faith.
Recommended Study: As you prepare for this sermon, consider utilizing Logos to explore how the themes of strength and courage appear throughout the Pentateuch, particularly in relation to the Israelites' history. Investigate commentaries that connect Joshua’s leadership with the larger narrative of redemptive history, especially how his role as a leader reflects Christ's eternal leadership. Additionally, examining the cultural context of leadership during Joshua's time may provide valuable insights into the sermon’s application.
