Introduction

If you have your Bibles, you can take and open them to Galatians chapter 2. We continue in Paul’s defense section this morning and so far, we have seen Paul defending his message, defending his apostleship, but more importantly, reminding the Galatian believers of the one who called him, the Lord Jesus Christ. We have noted multiple times throughout this that purpose of Paul’s defense is not to point to himself, but rather to continuously point to the Gospel that Paul had brought to them. This morning, Paul’s defense continues in chapter 2 verses 1-10, but we will highlight Paul’s missional values this morning. The sermon title this morning is “Gospel Values” and what I intend for you to gather from is that every person who seeks to be an effective witness of the gospel is intended to hold the three values we will see from this text. This will not be an exhaustive list of values, for there are many values we can see from scripture pertaining to the Gospel, but the three we will look at this morning is (1) Gospel Unity, (2) Gospel Preservation, and (3) Gospel Service. So if you will, stand with me as we read Galatians 2:1-10.
