WORSHIP: MISSIONS’ PURPOSE AND POWER

Missions exist because worship doesn’t. The goal of missions is worship

John 4:21 Jesus *said to her, "Woman, believe Me, an hour is coming when neither in this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, shall you worship the Father. 22 "You worship that which you do not know; we worship that which we know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 "But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. 24 "God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."

Romans 15:8 For I say that Christ has become a servant to the circumcision on behalf of the truth of God to confirm the promises given to the fathers, 9 and for the Gentiles to glorify God for His mercy; as it is written, "THEREFORE I WILL GIVE PRAISE TO THEE AMONG THE GENTILES, AND I WILL SING TO THY NAME."

What is worship? Heartfelt delight in God!

Psalm 9:2 I will be glad and exult in Thee; I will sing praise to Thy name, O Most High.

John 15:11 "These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.

John 17:13 "But now I come to Thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy made full in themselves.

John 17:26 and I have made Thy name known to them, and will make it known; that the love wherewith Thou didst love Me may be in them, and I in them. "

Matthew 25:21 "His master said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful slave; you were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things, enter into the joy of your master.'

Missions is an invitation for the nations to find their happiness in God.

Psalm 97:1 The LORD reigns; let the earth rejoice; Let the many islands be glad.

Psalm 67:3 Let the peoples praise Thee, O God; Let all the peoples praise Thee. 4 Let the nations be glad and sing for joy; For Thou wilt judge the peoples with uprightness, And guide the nations on the earth. Selah.

Therefore the message of missions is: God is glorious!!

Psalm 96:4 For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared above all gods.

Isaiah 64:4 For from of old they have not heard nor perceived by ear, Neither has the eye seen a God besides Thee, Who acts in behalf of the one who waits for Him.

Psalm 9:11 Sing praises to the LORD, who dwells in Zion; Declare among the peoples His deeds.

Psalm 47:1 O Clap your hands, all peoples; Shout to God with the voice of joy.

Psalm 66:8 Bless our God, O peoples, And sound His praise abroad,

Psalm 96:1 Sing to the LORD a new song; Sing to the LORD, all the earth.

Psalm 96:3 Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.

Psalm 96:7 Ascribe to the LORD, O families of the peoples, Ascribe to the LORD glory and strength…10 Say among the nations, "The LORD reigns; Indeed, the world is firmly established, it will not be moved; He will judge the peoples with equity."

Psalm 105:1 Oh give thanks to the LORD, call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples.

Psalm 117:1 Praise the LORD, all nations; Laud Him, all peoples!

Isaiah 12:4 And in that day you will say, "Give thanks to the LORD, call on His name. Make known His deeds among the peoples; Make them remember that His name is exalted."

Isaiah 34:1 Draw near, O nations, to hear; and listen, O peoples! Let the earth and all it contains hear, and the world and all that springs from it.

Isaiah 52:7 How lovely on the mountains Are the feet of him who brings good news, Who announces peace And brings good news of happiness, Who announces salvation, And says to Zion, "Your God reigns!"

Psalm 18:49 Therefore I will give thanks to Thee among the nations, O LORD, And I will sing praises to Thy name.

Psalm 57:9 I will give thanks to Thee, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing praises to Thee among the nations.

Psalm 108:3 I will give thanks to Thee, O LORD, among the peoples; And I will sing praises to Thee among the nations.

God wins! All the nations will worship.

Genesis 12:1 Now the LORD said to Abram, "Go forth from your country, And from your relatives And from your father's house, To the land which I will show you; 2 And I will make you a great nation, And I will bless you, And make your name great; And so you shall be a blessing; 3 And I will bless those who bless you, And the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed. "

Psalm 22:27 All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the LORD, And all the families of the nations will worship before Thee. 28 For the kingdom is the LORD'S, And He rules over the nations.

Psalm 2:8 'Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Thine inheritance, And the very ends of the earth as Thy possession.

Psalm 111:6 He has made known to His people the power of His works, In giving them the heritage of the nations.

Psalm 45:17 I will cause Thy name to be remembered in all generations; Therefore the peoples will give Thee thanks forever and ever.

Psalm 86:9 All nations whom Thou hast made shall come and worship before Thee, O Lord; And they shall glorify Thy name.

Isaiah 25:6 And the LORD of hosts will prepare a lavish banquet for all peoples on this mountain; A banquet of aged wine, choice pieces with marrow, And refined, aged wine. 7 And on this mountain He will swallow up the covering which is over all peoples, Even the veil which is stretched over all nations.

Isaiah 49:6 He says, "It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant To raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also make You a light of the nations So that My salvation may reach to the end of the earth."

Revelation 7:9 After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude, which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches were in their hands;

Jesus is the center of our missionary message.

Revelation 5:9 And they *sang a new song, saying, "Worthy art Thou to take the book, and to break its seals; for Thou wast slain, and didst purchase for God with Thy blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.

Hebrews 1:3 And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high;

Acts 4:12 "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved."

2 Corinthians 4:3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 5 For we do not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond-servants for Jesus' sake. 6 For God, who said, "Light shall shine out of darkness," is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

Worship is the fuel for missions.

Psalm 67:1 God be gracious to us and bless us, And cause His face to shine upon us-- Selah. 2 That Thy way may be known on the earth, Thy salvation among all nations. 3 Let the peoples praise Thee, O God; Let all the peoples praise Thee. 4 Let the nations be glad and sing for joy; For Thou wilt judge the peoples with uprightness, And guide the nations on the earth. Selah. 5 Let the peoples praise Thee, O God; Let all the peoples praise Thee. 6 The earth has yielded its produce; God, our God, blesses us. 7 God blesses us, That all the ends of the earth may fear Him.

1 John 1:1 What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we beheld and our hands handled, concerning the Word of Life-- 2 and the life was manifested, and we have seen and bear witness and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested to us-- 3 what we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, that you also may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ. 4 And these things we write, so that our joy may be made complete.

2 Kings 7:9 Then they said to one another, "We are not doing right. This day is a day of good news, but we are keeping silent; if we wait until morning light, punishment will overtake us. Now therefore come, let us go and tell the king's household."
