Introduction
Are you familiar with Alice in Wonderland? Alice came to a fork in the road. Icy panic stung her as she stood frozen by indecision. She lifted her eyes toward heaven, looking for guidance. Her eyes did not find God, only the Cheshire cat leering at her from his perch in the tree above.
“Which way should I go?” Alice blurted.
“That depends,” said the cat, fixing a sardonic smile on the confused girl.
“On what?” Alice managed to reply.
“It depends on your destination. Where are you going?” the cat asked.
“I don’t know,” Alice stammered.
“Then,” said the cat, his grin spreading wider, “it doesn’t matter which way you go.”
The destination matters to the Christian. We are a pilgrim people. Though we do not wander in a wilderness in route to the Promised Land, we seek a better country, an eternal city whose builder and maker is God. Someday He will take us home to His kingdom
Have you ever faced a choice and wished God would just give you the answer right away? Maybe something like, “Yes, choose this path,” or “No, don’t go there”?
Maria just finished high school and got two job offers. One was in her hometown where she could stay close to her family, the other in the city with higher pay but far away. She prayed every night, “Lord, what is Your will for me?” but no clear answer came.
She realized that sometimes God doesn’t give us all the details about tomorrow. Instead, He asks us to walk in faith, trusting that wherever we go, we can still live for Him by being honest, kind, and faithful.
It’s like traveling to a destination: we may not see the whole road, but we know the direction. In the same way, God may not show us every turn, but He promises to guide us step by step.
Whatever our path or destination
Most christian wants to know their destination or their future, that is why they often asked God.
