The other notable Reason this water into wine miricale is so important is that wine is a symbol of Joy (Judges 9:13 “But the vine said to them, ‘Shall I leave my wine that cheers God and men and go hold sway over the trees?’” Psalm 104:15 “and wine to gladden the heart of man, oil to make his face shine and bread to strengthen man’s heart.” This is made apparent in John 6, where Jesus spoke the sermon of “I AM the bread of life” Also making it apparent that the worlds Joy will always run out or go dry, but Jesus, our lord who gives us eternal Joy that will never run out in his Eternal kingdom.
