Purpose: To invite the church to reflect, live wisely, and trust God to establish the next chapter of their ministry.
Outline:
Our Eternal God (vv. 1–2) — “Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations.”
God is our stability across all seasons and generations.
Before there was a building, pastor, or plan — there was God.
Our Fleeting Days (vv. 3–10) — “You return man to dust… our days pass away under your wrath.”
Life and ministry seasons are brief. God teaches humility through time.
Our Need for Wisdom (v. 12) — “Teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”
We measure success not in years served, but in faithfulness shown.
Our Prayer for the Future (vv. 13–17) — “Establish the work of our hands.”
Pray that the work done at Western Trail continues to bear fruit.
God’s kingdom outlives us all; our legacy is faithfulness, not fame.
Closing Connection:
“We began this journey talking about seasons. Today, I remind you: every day matters. Number them. Use them well. And trust the Lord to establish the work of your hands.”
