The book of Nahum is written 100 years after the preaching of Jonah.
The generation of Nineveh that believed the preaching of Jonah and repented of their sins had passed away, and the future generations reverted back to Pagan polytheism and immoral behavior.
how quickly a nation turns away from God, how quickly a nation rejects the religion of its fathers and returns back to the alters of strange gods.
secular historians document a generational era of Nineveh that forsook polytheism and embraced monotheism aka the worship of ONE God.
That generation failed to pass the torch and the future generations failed to receive the torch.
We see this happening in our own nation and in our own denomination.
Many Americans are forsaking the heritage and legacy of the Founding Fathers and the constitution and embracing socialism, Marxism and other left wing beliefs.
Most Americans have never read one word of Thomas Jefferson, Monroe, Franklin, Adams or Hamilton.
and because of that America in past years has been unable to receive the torch from our fathers.
and the identity of our nation becomes something different and suffers because of it.
In our “denomination” of the ABA
we are seeing church members, seminary students and Pastors who have never read Ben Bogard, Albert Garner, Jr Graves, John T Christian, BH Carroll and many others of the Fathers of our movement.
and because of this lack of knowledge our churches and seminaries perish and young preachers don't know their own heritage.
When young preachers graduate ABA seminaries with never reading the Landmark fathers of our movement....
...we are seeing the active failure of the previous generation to pass the torch and the failure of the new generation to receive the torch.
we in fact are watching the death spasms of the ABA and the death of the Landmark movement.
Bro Jeremy, are you saying the ABA is going to die?
No.....But it will morph, it will become something different and it will suffer.
That's the heart of my free book table.
I want to keep the heritage of Landmark Missionary Baptist church doctrine and culture alive.
I want the faith of my fathers to be maintained today, so i can be who I'm supposed to be tomorrow.
there are people who want to forsake the King James Bible, the traditional hymns of worship and ultimately reject tradition and embrace new ideas.....church I am not one of them.
i don't want Samuel, Lilly and Saige to be liberal nondenominational Christians reading the message bible AND LISTENING TO BETHEL AND HILLSONG MUSIC, i want them to be Landmark Missionary Baptists!
.......with a tear stained King James Bible AND the words of the hymnal marking their soul.
let us look today at the city of Nineveh and learn from there mistakes and may we go back to the faith of our fathers as Americans and as Missionary Baptists.
But first i want to read 3 verses, to introduce the book of Nahum and the sin of
—Nineveh, the sin of rejecting their fathers faith and values...........
King James Version Chapter 6
Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. 17 Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken. 18 Therefore hear, ye nations, and know, O congregation, what is among them. 19 Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it
