We love information.

Maybe that is an overstatement but we seek information and sometimes we seek information which confirms what we already know. This is called confirmation bias.

What is the goal of the Gospel?

This a question we must ponder regularly. It is a question which may challenge us the deeper we walk with Jesus.

Philemon is a person letter with broad implications.

It is probably one of the most personal and intimate letters we have of Paul’s.

Paul’s situation and God’s providence.

Regardless of where we are in life we must remember God gives grace and mercy and peace.

We encourage leaders when we serve well.

This is personal. Paul is encouraged over and over because of those who serve Jesus.

Salvation is the starting point, not the end point.

Notice in the prayer Paul has for Philemon a progression.

Discipleship, growing Jesus, requires we go deeper.

Paul wants Philemon and the wider community to grow in what we share with Jesus, The Christ.
