1.cor. Chapter 2:1-13 (Christ crucified) Paul’s weakness and the power God in the Holy Spirt-Teaching.
(Paul and S pointing to Jesus, from beginning to the end of the letter, as foundation and wisdom). Recap:
Paul laid the foundation that by God’s grace and call they understood and believed in Jesus as Christ, Their Lord, savior, redeemer, sanctifier and the one that makes them right with God. (Today it will explain the Holy Spirts role).
Paul now reminding them about; what he did and how he was when he was in Corith. - Paul wrote; I was amazing and strong, I had no fear and by my peaching and wisdom you were a converted, because of my wisdom. No. Paul does the opposite, he writes I did not come with lofty speech or wisdom, - My focus was not me; it was Jesus Christ and him crucified. To only to boast in Jesus’ work.
5) And I as you recall was fearful and trembling, and weak (Acts 18:9–11 And the Lord said to Paul one night in a vision, “Do not be afraid, but go on speaking and do not be silent, for I am with you, and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many in this city who are my people.” And he stayed a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.  It was not Paul’s wisdom, but it was the power of the Spirt, that worked in you, God opened our eyes, so that you would trust in God’s power and not men, you know this you were there and experienced the power of the Holy Spirt – did you forget?  (That you now trust in men? And not in the power of God that worked by His Spirt).
6-8) God had a plan. (As in the gospel of Mark (the Christ mystery come and find out who Jesus is.). Paul talks about a “secret and hidden wisdom”, that he does share with the mature/compleate /perfect -that wisdom is Jesus, life, death. Jesus showed who God is, and that he is the way to be reconciled to God. It was kept from people as Isaiah also wrote, that people would not see, because if they did, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. An amazing title. (Jesus) This was Gods predestinate /decree before the ages – for believers (our) glory.
Paul does teach the wisdom of God, that the worlds wisdom did not see, but it was to bring people to God, by Christ death on the cross, folly for many – but the power of God for the people that were called, to Jesus.
9) What glory? Is Paul talking about? In verse 7. In verse 9 Paul cites Isaiah 64:4. – that we are not able to imagined what God has prepared for those who love him. God was the one to reveal the mystery of Jesus, and did that through the Spirt. (Not the trinity at work, God preparing, Jesus coming, the Spirt revealing Jesus and God – The trinity all are involved).
10-11 God reveal his glory by the work of the Spirt, that searches everything also the depths of God, - only God self can do that to know God that deep, - but it also means that The Holy Spirt can show us who God is, in dept, all of who God is. Knows all and comprehends all of God. And knows God’s thoughts – and only the Spirt does that.
12 The Spirt we have is not from the world, the Holy Spirt from God as a gift down payment, as prof we are in Christ Jesus, and that we can know what God has freely given us.
13 And we don’t teach like others human wisdom, we are taught by the Holy Spirt, and we are interpreting things by the Spirt and teach the ones that are spiritual by the Holy Spirt and not wisdom of man, but by God’s power.
Then what? What does it mean for us? We can ask ourself who do I boast in? People, myself, my wisdom? Or is it God, that in His wisdom, had a plan, to bring a people to Himself, by His son, - who is the mystery, and true wisdom, - and that plan we are only able to see/ understand, by the work of the Holy Spirt, that God the Holy Spirt open our eyes to understand, who Jesus is.
Response repentance: God’s word laying us open, the Holy Spirt opening our eyes to see Jesus Clear, turning form our own wisdom and trust in other things that Jesus Christ.
Praise.  For who God is Father, son Holy Spirt, That Gods wisdom, power is seen I Jesus Christ and revealed by the work of the Holy Spirt, -for our good and God’s glory and praise.
