Acts 5:27-42
πειθαρχέω (peitharcheō). vb. to obey one in authority. This verb emphasizes the authority of the one to be obeyed.
This is a rare word for obeying in the NT. It is formed from πείθω (peithō, “to persuade”)—some grammatical forms of which can mean “to obey”—and ἄρχων (archōn, “authority”). Since God is the ultimate authority, he must be obeyed (peitharcheō) above all others (
Saying, “Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name?”

“ and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.”
Then Peter and the other apostles answered

Vs. 30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.
24 But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him
31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and eforgiveness of sins.
32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that OBEY him
