WHAT IF

WHAT IF WE PRAY

BLESSED CONFIDENCE

I John 5:14-15

  1. THE DIRECTION OF OUR PRAYER
  2. Acceptance

Matthew 6:6 - But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

Song of Songs 2:14 - O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; for sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely.

Here the Lord is talking to His bride, the church of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Song of Songs 2:14 - O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; for sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely

  5. THE DIRECTION OF OUR PRAYER
  6. THE CONDITION OF OUR PRAYER
  • One law is the law of believing.

Matthew 21:22 - And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

  • One law is the law of believing
  • Jesus’ Name

John 14:14 - If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

  • One law is the law of believing
  • Jesus’ Name
  • Abiding

John 15:7 - If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Psalm 66:18 - If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:

  • One law is the law of believing
  • Jesus’ Name
  • Abiding
  • The Will of God

Colossians 1:9 - For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

Colossians 1:9 tells us that it's possible to be filled with the knowledge of His will.

I think there are two basic ways that we come to know the will of God.

We come to know the will of God through the Bible and through the Holy Spirit working in our lives.

  1. The Word of God

Psalm 119:89-96 - For Ever O LORD, Thy Word Is Settled In Heaven.

  1. The Word of God
  2. The Working of The Holy Spirit
  3. The Will of God

Matthew 6:9-10 - 9After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

John 7:17 - If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

  1. THE DIRECTION OF OUR PRAYER
  2. THE CONDITION OF OUR PRAYER
  3. THE FRUITION OF OUR PRAYER

  1. The Assurance of Answered Prayer
  2. The Attainment of Answered Prayer
  3. Direct

Jeremiah 33:3 - Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

  1. Direct
  2. Delayed

Isaiah 30:18 - And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.

  1. Direct
  2. Delayed
  3. Different
  4. Denial
