REIGNING WITH CHRIST
Giving:
4 Do not weary yourself to gain wealth, Cease from your consideration of it.
5 When you set your eyes on it, it is gone. For wealth certainly makes itself wings. Like an eagle that flies toward the heavens. (Proverbs 23:4–5).
Theme: Reign with the Lord

Proof Text:

2 Timothy 2:11–13, ESV
11 The saying is trustworthy, for: If we have died with him, we will also live with him;
12 if we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us;
13 if we are faithless, he remains faithful— for he cannot deny himself.
Revelation 5:10 (ESV)
10 and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.”

What does it mean to reign

To reign , to rule, to be king refers to the activity of one exercising dominion over an individual or a people.

The devil will always seek to oppress the believer, but you must rise and defend your faith.
Jesus gave all believers power against the devil, we should learn to use it.
The reward for spending time with the Lord, speaking to Him in prayer is - POWER.
1 Corinthians 4:8 (NASB95)
8 You are already filled, you have already become rich, you have become kings without us; and indeed, I wish that you had become kings so that we also might reign with you.
A. Reign over the sinful nature: Sin and Death
Romans 5:17 (NASB95)
17 For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:21 (NASB95)
21 so that, as sin reigned in death, even so grace would reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Either Sin and Death Reign in this world or we as Christians reign
We reign only together with Christ: By His power, Authority, Grace and Righteousness.
We reign: By knowing the word of God and speaking it in our conversations.
B. Suffering does not mean you cannot or are not reigning
Romans 8:17, ESV
17and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.
C. True Christians will judge the world
1 Corinthians 6:2–3, ESV
2 Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you incompetent to try trivial cases?
3 Do you not know that we are to judge angels? How much more, then, matters pertaining to this life!
You are expected to deal with every situation that rises, whether as a result of someone doing something to you or by yourself.
D. Imitate Christ
1 John 4:17 “… because as He is, so also are we in this world.”

Conclusion: What are we to do:

1 Peter 4:13, ESV
13 But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed.
Rejoicing no matter the challenges, sufferings, trials assures that you gain control of the matter and reign.
Your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt.
Learn to handle hardship, so that you reign with Christ.
no matter who wrongs you, dont hold them in your heart.
Always forgive those who wrong you, hurt you, use you and love them.
How can you master over sin? don’t give in to things that feeds sinful nature. give examples….
Always God speaks:
Faith Hope and Love to believers.
God has equipped all with:
Power of the word from His mouth
Power of unity, ie. the love of God
Power of Obedience and Humility
