Meek not Weak
It is strength under control
J. Wallace Hamiliton
In his book Ride the wild horses he talked about meekness.
When a wild horse is broke and now it can take a rider it is called bing Meeked.
It now listen to the rider on where to go and doesn’t fight back but obeys the Master.
Now the strength can be used for the Masters work.
Jesus follow in scripture had to go through being meeked did they not?
Peter alway putting his foot in his mouth but Jesus used his boldness to preach the gospel.
Paul had uncontrolled zeal but when Meeked him on the road to Damascus his zeal was use for the LORD.
Jesus wants is to be meeked so we can be used for HIS glory.
The rich young ruler
Mark 10:17–22 CSB
17 As he was setting out on a journey, a man ran up, knelt down before him, and asked him, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” 18 “Why do you call me good?” Jesus asked him. “No one is good except God alone. 19 You know the commandments: Do not murder; do not commit adultery; do not steal; do not bear false witness; do not defraud; honor your father and mother.” 20 He said to him, “Teacher, I have kept all these from my youth.” 21 Looking at him, Jesus loved him and said to him, “You lack one thing: Go, sell all you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” 22 But he was dismayed by this demand, and he went away grieving, because he had many possessions.
The rich young ruler did not want to go through the meeking process.
Is this process even that important?
Romans 6:19 CSB
19 I am using a human analogy because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you offered the parts of yourselves as slaves to impurity, and to greater and greater lawlessness, so now offer them as slaves to righteousness, which results in sanctification.
Meek is a servant to Christ Jesus.
We can not live our way and serve Jesus at the same time.
Story about a former youth and their life.
The path is not easy but is it worth it.
Matthew 11:28–30 CSB
28 “Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, because I am lowly and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
My yoke meaning you have been meeked.
You can fight against Jesus or find rest in Him.
“For my yoke is easy”
James 1:21 CSB
