Ecclesiastes 1:4-7

Nothing Is New

Ecclesiastes 1:4 “One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever.”
The Earth
Our life is temporary.
Lord willing after we die the earth will continue as it always has
We are pilgrims here on earth
This world is not my home!!
Ecclesiastes 1:5 “The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to his place where he arose.”
The Sun
As far as the heavens are concerned all days are the same
Ecclesiastes 1:6 “The wind goeth toward the south, and turneth about unto the north; it whirleth about continually, and the wind returneth again according to his circuits.”
The Wind
John 3:8 “The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.”
The wind is unpredictable in its actions yet it is still the wind. it will always be!
Though from our perspective it seems to change, the wind is doing what the wind has always done
Ecclesiastes 1:7 “All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again.”
The Sea
Weather we look at the earth or the heavens, the winds or the waters, we come to the same conclusion, Nature does not change
The is motion but no PROmotion
All of this is true ONLY IF YOU LOOK AT LIFE “under the sun”
However if we start looking up to God, He does break into nature and do wondrous things!
HE DOES HEAR AND ANSWER PRAYER
Moses- Parting the Red Sea
Joshua- He prayed and the sun stood still
Elijah- He prayed and the rain was held back and the fire fell
The Disciples- Saw the Lord Calm the wind and the sea
The day God saved be he broke though the darkness in my life and MADE ME NEW!!!
ONLY GOD CAN MAKE A NEW THING!!
