we are gathered here today

in the presence of God

to celebrate one of His greatest gifts

the gift of marriage

Today, Eli and Ramsey stand before us

to commit theirs lives to one another

to walk together through every season together

and to build a life that reflects the love God has shown them

Marriage is a covenant

not just between two people

but also with God

its a sacred bond

that calls us to love sacrificially

to serve one another

and to pursue a lifetime of faithfulness

Opening Prayer

i want to pray a prayer of God’s blessing over you today

so at this time if you will go ahead and join me with bowing your heads

“Heavenly Father, we thank You for this day, a day You have set apart for Eli and Ramsey. We thank You for bringing them together in Your perfect timing and for the love that has led us here. Lord, we ask that You would bless this ceremony, bless their marriage, and be the foundation they build their life upon. May Your presence fill this place and guide them all the days of their lives. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.”

Their Story

in 2023, Eli and Ramsey set eyes on each other for the first time

at the 2023 wrestling national championships

Ramsey was there supporting her brother, Nate

Eli had wrestled and coached at UCO.

they spent some time together

and Eli quickly knew there was something special about Ramsey

But she was still in college

and Eli didnt feel it was the right time to ask her out

so for an entire year they didnt talk

but that didnt stop Eli’s from thinking of her often

hoping, just maybe she might be thinking of him too

we fast forward a year

2024 nationals

Eli still holding on to hope

not even sure if Ramsey would be there this year

since her brother had graduated

but Then Eli sees Ramseys family

and realizes this is his chance

not willing to let the potential love of his life

pass him by, he begins to think up a way

knowing everyone usually gets together after the first day

Eli see his open door

Its first night after after a full day of wrestling

Eli is waiting around but doesnt see the Keim family

so Eli texts Ramseys brother Nate

trying to get them to come out

but they don’t show up

now its day 2 and Eli’s determined not to miss the moment

He goes Mike, Ramsey’s dad

and let him know first, before he made his move

that he wanted to ask his daughter out

Eli told Mike, that it would be a good thing, and he wouldnt disrespect their family

then Eli finds Ramsery and pulls her aside

and asks her what her plans are for the following weekend

when she said she didnt have plans

eli told her “good because im picking you up for a date”

what Eli didn’t know then

but found out later from, Ramsey’s friends

was that Ramsey had been thinking of him throught this past year also

and was actually waiting on him to ask her out

it took a year

but God’s timing is perfect

and from that moment on

a love story has been unfolding

and that is what has led us here today

Eli and Ramsey

i want to talk to you for a moment

before today

you were a single person

you were responsible for you own lives

you had your own paths

your own identity

but today everything changes

today you no longer walk alone

your lives come together as one

your goals, hopes and dreams

are now each others goals, hopes and dreams

The Bible tells us in Genesis 2 that a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.”

that means from here forward

God joins your lives together as one

that means your victories

will be sweeter because you’ll share them

and your burdens will be lighter

because you’ll carry them with one another

this moment isn’t about loosing who you are as individuals

its about becoming something greater together

God has been writing your story for years

and today

you step into the next chapter as husband and wife

and as you step into the next chapter

i want you to remember what God’s Word says about love

because marriage is built on love

but not just any love

its built on the kind of love that only comes from God

God’s Word defines love

in 1 Corinthians 13 “Love is patient, love is kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. Love does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. Love never gives up.”

if you let this be the type of love you have for one another

if you let this kind of love be what guides you

your marriage will not only last

it will thrive

because love is more than a feeling

it is a choice

a day by day

moment by moment choice

a choice to forgive

a choice to serve

a choice to encourage

and support

to protect

and to honor

this is the kind of love God calls you to in marriage

and when you build your marriage on this foundation

it wil be unshakable

before you share your vows

that yiou have prepare for one another

i want to ask you to make a declaration of your intent

before God and these witnesses

i’ll ask a few questions

and you will affirm your commitment at the end by responding i do

To Eli: “Eli, do you take Ramsey to be your wife, to walk with her always, to love her faithfully, and to be devoted to her for as long as you both shall live?”

To Ramsey: “Ramsey, do you take Eli to be your husband, to walk with him always, to love him faithfully, and to be devoted to him for as long as you both shall live?”

VOWS

at this time Eli and Ramsey will share the vows they have written for one another

before God and the witnesses gathered here today

I, Eli, take you Ramsey,

to be my wife. To have and to hold,

from this day forward, for better, for worse,

for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, as long as we both shall live. This is my solemn vow.”

at this time we will exchange rings

these rings are a symbol of your unending love

and the convenant you are making today

they are circles

without beginning or end

just like the love you share

every time you see them

let them remind you of the promise you have made before God

and these witnesses

To Eli: “Eli, as you place this ring on Ramsey’s finger, please repeat after me: ‘With this ring, I give you my love and faithfulness. As I place it on your hand, I commit my heart and life to you, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.’”

To Ramsey: “Ramsey, as you place this ring on Eli’s finger, please repeat after me: ‘With this ring, I give you my love and faithfulness. As I place it on your hand, I commit my heart and life to you, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.’”

with the joining of hands

and the giving and recieving of a ring

in the presence of this company

By the authority of the state of Oklahoma

and that of Almight God
