Faith Industries Devo 1:27

Theme: Wisdom was established by God before creation—when we walk, work, and make decisions with His wisdom, we build with lasting purpose and find true favor.
Proverbs 8:22–36 NKJV
22 “The Lord possessed me at the beginning of His way, Before His works of old. 23 I have been established from everlasting, From the beginning, before there was ever an earth. 24 When there were no depths I was brought forth, When there were no fountains abounding with water. 25 Before the mountains were settled, Before the hills, I was brought forth; 26 While as yet He had not made the earth or the fields, Or the primal dust of the world. 27 When He prepared the heavens, I was there, When He drew a circle on the face of the deep, 28 When He established the clouds above, When He strengthened the fountains of the deep, 29 When He assigned to the sea its limit, So that the waters would not transgress His command, When He marked out the foundations of the earth, 30 Then I was beside Him as a master craftsman; And I was daily His delight, Rejoicing always before Him, 31 Rejoicing in His inhabited world, And my delight was with the sons of men. 32 “Now therefore, listen to me, my children, For blessed are those who keep my ways. 33 Hear instruction and be wise, And do not disdain it. 34 Blessed is the man who listens to me, Watching daily at my gates, Waiting at the posts of my doors. 35 For whoever finds me finds life, And obtains favor from the Lord; 36 But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul; All those who hate me love death.”

1. Wisdom’s Origin (vv. 22–26)

Proverbs 8:22–26 NKJV
22 “The Lord possessed me at the beginning of His way, Before His works of old. 23 I have been established from everlasting, From the beginning, before there was ever an earth. 24 When there were no depths I was brought forth, When there were no fountains abounding with water. 25 Before the mountains were settled, Before the hills, I was brought forth; 26 While as yet He had not made the earth or the fields, Or the primal dust of the world.
God established wisdom before creation.
Wisdom isn’t a human invention—it’s part of God’s very nature.

2. Wisdom in Creation (vv. 27–31)

Proverbs 8:27–31 NKJV
27 When He prepared the heavens, I was there, When He drew a circle on the face of the deep, 28 When He established the clouds above, When He strengthened the fountains of the deep, 29 When He assigned to the sea its limit, So that the waters would not transgress His command, When He marked out the foundations of the earth, 30 Then I was beside Him as a master craftsman; And I was daily His delight, Rejoicing always before Him, 31 Rejoicing in His inhabited world, And my delight was with the sons of men.
Wisdom worked alongside God as a “master craftsman.”
God’s creation shows order, purpose, and precision.
Every task we do—whether planning, building, or leading—reflects God’s wise creative order when done with integrity and excellence.

3. The Call to Listen and Live Wisely (vv. 32–36)

Proverbs 8:32–36 NKJV
32 “Now therefore, listen to me, my children, For blessed are those who keep my ways. 33 Hear instruction and be wise, And do not disdain it. 34 Blessed is the man who listens to me, Watching daily at my gates, Waiting at the posts of my doors. 35 For whoever finds me finds life, And obtains favor from the Lord; 36 But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul; All those who hate me love death.”
Wisdom calls us to listen daily and live by God’s design.
Following wisdom brings blessing and favor; ignoring it brings harm.
Success isn’t only about results—it’s about the daily discipline of seeking God’s guidance and applying wisdom in decisions, communication, and leadership.

Cross Reference:

Colossians 1:17 NKJV
17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.
Philippians 3:8 NKJV
8 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ

Application Questions:

In what areas of my life do I tend to rely on my own understanding instead of God’s wisdom?
How can I bring more order, purpose, and excellence into my daily responsibilities—reflecting God’s design in creation?

Faith Industries Devo 1:27
