WEEK 6 — Full Wednesday Guide (6:00–7:00 PM)

Theme: Time & Task Stewardship (Responsibility Week 2)

Memory Verse (Girls): Psalm 90:12 — “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”

Scripture Tie-In (Rangers): Psalm 91:1 — “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.”

Big Idea: Being responsible with our time builds strong shelters for life.

First 30 Minutes — Combined (6:00–6:30)

6:00–6:05 — Welcome & Opening

Recap Week 5: “What did we say about choices? (They build our shelter!) Tonight: our time is part of our shelter too.”

6:05–6:10 — Pledges

6:10–6:15 — Prayer & Announcements

Prayer: “Teach us to use our time wisely, Lord.”

Week 6 Leader Script

Setup (1 min):

(Hold a tarp loosely over chairs, not staked down.)

“Who remembers last week’s lesson? (Responsibility—owning choices!) This week, it’s about being responsible with our time.”

Object Lesson (2 min):

“If campers don’t set up their shelter before rain comes, they get wet. Timing matters! Same in life—if we waste time or delay, we miss opportunities.”

Scripture (2 min):

Read Psalm 90:12.

“God says to number our days so we’ll live wisely. That means we should use our time carefully, not waste it.”

Discussion (1–2 min):

“What’s one way you sometimes waste time? What’s one wise way you could use time better?”

Application (2 min):

“This week, manage your time wisely: finish a chore before playing, spend time praying before scrolling, or use your energy to help others.”

Call & Response (30 sec):

Leader: “Wise use of time…”

Group: “…makes life stronger!”

Prayer (30 sec):

“Lord, help us to use our time wisely and not waste the days You’ve given us. Amen.”

Take-Home Challenge:

“Pick one daily task (homework, chores, devotions) and do it on time this week.”

6:25–6:30 — Game: Beat the Rain

Kids must form a “shelter” before countdown ends. Tie-in: “Steward time before the storm hits.”

Royal Rangers (6:30–7:00)

Skill: Tarp A-Frame Shelter

Scripture: Psalm 91:1

Materials: 1 tarp + 2 stakes/chairs per group

Intro (6:30–6:35): “Tonight we build an A-frame—needs timing.”

Demo (6:35–6:40): Ridgeline + 2 stakes.

Practice (6:40–6:45): Teams set up mini-shelters.

Scripture Tie-In (6:45–6:50): Ps. 91:1 — “God is our shelter when we plan wisely.”

Challenge (6:50–6:55): Fastest taut pitch.

Wrap (6:55–7:00): Prayer.

Girls Ministries (6:30–7:00)

Focus: Time/Task Stewardship

Materials: Simple planner sheets

Intro (6:30–6:35): “Time is like money—you can spend it wisely or waste it.”

Teaching (6:35–6:40): Story of missed opportunity because of procrastination.

Discussion (6:40–6:45): “What’s one thing you put off too long?”

Activity (6:45–6:50): Create a 1-day planner (include homework, chores, prayer).

Verse Tie-In (6:50–6:55): Read Ps. 90:12. Write it at top of planner.

Wrap (6:55–7:00): “Lord, teach us to use our time well.”
