Scripture Reading: The Covenant Pattern
Scripture Reading: The Covenant Pattern
Officiant or Reader:
Deuteronomy 32:3–4, 9 —
“For I will proclaim the name of the Lord;
ascribe greatness to our God!
The Rock, His work is perfect,
for all His ways are justice.
A God of faithfulness and without iniquity,
just and upright is He.
… For the Lord’s portion is His people,
Jacob His allotted heritage.”
Officiant:
Just as God claimed Israel as His portion, today Tyler Wade Blaschke and Riley Elizabeth Stamport claim one another as their portion—joining their lives under God’s justice, mercy, and faithfulness.
Charge to the Couple
Charge to the Couple
Officiant:
Marriage, from the beginning, is a covenant of loyal love.
In the OT Book of Deuteronomy, covenants mark boundaries between loyalty and rebellion, between the kingdom of God and the kingdoms of this world.
You are being called to model hesed—faithful love that endures beyond emotion, mirroring God’s love for His people.
Your home will become a sanctuary of divine presence, a little Eden—a place where God’s Spirit dwells, and His glory shines through your unity.
Tyler and Riley, your union declares that Christ has reclaimed you from the nations to become part of His family.
Your love is participation in God’s cosmic reversal—restoring creation back under His dominion through the loyalty of His sons and daughters.
Exchange of Vows
Exchange of Vows
Officiant:
Please face each other and join hands.
To the Groom:
Tyler Wade Blaschke, do you take Riley Elizabeth Stamport to be your covenant partner,
to walk with her in loyal love before God,
to guard her heart as your own,
to lead her in righteousness,
to comfort her in sorrow,
and to rejoice with her in the blessings of God’s kingdom,
as long as you both shall live?
Groom:
I do.
To the Bride:
Riley Elizabeth Stamport, do you take Tyler Wade Blaschke to be your covenant partner,
to walk with him in loyal love before God,
to honor him in word and deed,
to strengthen him in faith,
to comfort him in sorrow,
and to rejoice with him in the blessings of God’s kingdom,
as long as you both shall live?
Bride:
I do.
Exchange of Rings
Exchange of Rings
Officiant:
These rings are symbols of covenant—unbroken circles of loyal love.
In the ancient world, a sign or seal confirmed the bond between parties; in the same way, these rings testify that a covenant has been made before God and His heavenly council.
To the Groom:
Repeat after me:
“With this ring, I seal my vow to you,
as a sign of the covenant God has joined between us.”
To the Bride:
Repeat after me:
“With this ring, I seal my vow to you,
as a sign of the covenant God has joined between us.”
Blessing and Declaration
Blessing and Declaration
Officiant:
May the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—the God who calls His people His portion—
bless this union and make it fruitful in faith, love, and loyal service.
May your marriage stand as a witness to the nations that God is restoring His family through loyal hearts.
By the authority given to me under God and the laws of this state,
I now pronounce you husband and wife.
What God has joined together, let no one separate.
You may now seal your covenant with a kiss.
Closing Prayer
Closing Prayer
Officiant:
Father of glory,
We thank You for the covenant that unites Tyler and Riley as one flesh, one witness, and one light to the nations.
May their home be filled with Your Spirit,
their love reflect Your faithfulness,
and their lives proclaim Your kingdom until Christ returns to restore all creation.
Bless them with peace, fruitfulness, and strength in every trial.
In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
Amen.
