2 Timothy 4:6-8
6 For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; 8 in the future there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.
2 Timothy is written by Paul to one of his apprentices Timothy during his second major imprisonment
in Rome
Paul is writing to him as a final encouragement
This is also a piece to encapsulate or conclude the life of the church hero
Tony Stark’s farewell video
But then again that's the hero gig. Part of the journey is the end.
What I love about this letter is that though it has a solemn tone, he is wanting to encourage his pupil
He tells him that he has already been poured out as a drink offering
His life’s work but also his coming death
Philippians 2:17 “Even if I am to be poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrificial offering of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all.”
fought the good fight
this language here demonstrates to Timothy that life is not going to be easy
you are going to face challenges
kept the faith
he did not give up on what his beliefs were or the mission ahead
Here the thing, in many ways this relates so much to the week ahead
So for that congrats
But
This week symbolizes the Christian race
you will be tired at times
you will need to get in the water
you will need brothers by your side the whole way
Find a queen that will be by your side
Id be naive to think all of us are already on this journey

Matthew 11:28–30 “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
