Holiness - God’s Standard for his people

✝️ Sermonette: Holiness—God’s Standard for His People
Declaration of Faith: Holiness to be God’s standard of living for His people.

1. God’s Call to Holiness

📖 Leviticus 11:44 – “For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy.” 📖 1 Peter 1:15–16 – “But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”
👉 Holiness is not optional—it is God’s expectation. Holiness is not about legalism, but about likeness: being conformed to the image of Christ.

2. Holiness in Daily Living

📖 Hebrews 12:14 – “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.” 📖 Romans 12:1 – “Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”
👉 Holiness is not just Sunday worship—it’s Monday obedience. It’s what you watch, what you say, how you treat others, and how you carry yourself as God’s temple.

3. Holiness and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit

📖 Acts 5:32 – “And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.” 📖 Romans 15:16 – “…being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.”
👉 The Spirit does not fill a vessel that refuses cleansing. Sanctification prepares the temple; holiness makes room for the fire. The baptism of the Holy Ghost is poured out on those who are set apart, surrendered, and sanctified.

🔥 Challenge to Live Holy

Holiness is not about perfection—it’s about pursuit.
Holiness is not about rules—it’s about relationship.
Holiness is not about isolation—it’s about transformation.
God’s standard has never changed: “Be ye holy, for I am holy.” If you want the fire of Pentecost, you must walk the path of sanctification.

Altar Call

Today, will you present yourself as a living sacrifice? Will you lay down compromise, bitterness, and sin, and take up the call to holiness? The Spirit is ready to fill, but the vessel must be clean. Come, and let God sanctify you wholly, so that His Spirit may baptize you with fire.
