The "10/40 Window" refers to an area stretching from North Africa through the Middle East to East Asia.
Coined in 1989, this area is significant in some Christian missionary contexts because it is home to a high concentration of the world's least evangelized people groups and is also home to the majority of the world's poorest people.

Pastor Appreciation Month
Pastor Appreciation Month
Pastor Appreciation Month is a designated time, celebrated throughout October, to express gratitude and honor pastors and other clergy for their dedication and service to their churches and communities.
An integral part of this observance is Pastor Appreciation Day, which occurs on the second Sunday of October.
Remember, Pastors are there during the most stressful and difficult times of our lives.
When someone is sick or has passed away, during a divorce, or when life presents difficult choices, a minister is often the first person called.
Their role as counselors and mentors is a vital part of the ministry.

Video: Sermon Bumper -The Name Above All Names
Title of the Series
In His Name
Title of the Message this
Morning is:
week 1: The Name Above All Names
week 1: The Name Above All Names
Main Idea:
Main Idea:
The name of Jesus stands above every other name—past, present, and future—because it carries the authority, power, and victory of the risen Christ.
When we live and act in His name, we step into His strength, not our own, becoming vessels of His love, courage, and hope in the world.
To go “in His name” is to live empowered by His presence and aligned with His purpose.
Prayer:
“We thank You that in Your name we find our strength, our purpose, and our peace.
Teach us to live each day in the power of Your authority and the calm of Your victory.
May Your name be lifted high in our words, our actions, and our hearts this week.”
Scripture: Philippians 2:9–11, John 16:33
(All scripture is taken from the NIV unless otherwise noted)
Introduction
Introduction
Names have weight.
They represent identity, authority, and relationship.
When someone signs their name to a document, it means they stand behind it.
When a soldier wears a name on their uniform, it tells you who they belong to.
And when someone you love calls your name, it reminds you that you’re known.
But there is one name that stands above every other name—the name of Jesus.
Paul tells us in Philippians 2 that after Jesus humbled Himself and took on the form of a servant, God exalted Him and gave Him “the name that is above every name.”
This isn’t just a statement of honor—it’s a declaration of divine authority.
The name of Jesus carries the power of heaven itself.
When we pray in His name, serve in His name, and love in His name, we are not relying on our own ability or influence.
We’re moving in the power and authority of the risen King.
That’s what this series, In His Name, is all about—learning to live boldly, love courageously, and bring hope wherever we go because Jesus goes with us.
Over the next four weeks, we’ll discover what it truly means to live empowered by the authority, power, and peace of Jesus.
And it all begins right here—with understanding that the name of Jesus isn’t just powerful in heaven; it’s powerful in your life, your home, and your calling.
When you live in His name, you carry His presence into every moment and His victory into every battle.
Main Teaching
Main Teaching
So if the name of Jesus is above every name, what does that really mean for us today?
It means that when God exalted Jesus, He placed all things under His authority—every power, every problem, every name that could ever stand against you.
His name isn’t just to be admired; it’s meant to be lived under and lived out.
You see, authority isn’t about dominance or control—it’s about rightful power and divine order.
Jesus has been given the name that carries ultimate authority in heaven and on earth.
And when we belong to Him, that authority changes how we see our circumstances, how we respond to challenges, and how we represent Him in the world.
So let’s begin here—with what it means to live under the authority of His name.
Because before we can move boldly or love courageously, we have to understand whose name we carry and the power that stands behind it.
Point 1: The Authority of His Name
Point 1: The Authority of His Name
When Paul writes that God gave Jesus “the name that is above every name” (Philippians 2:9), he’s not talking about a label — he’s describing a position.
Jesus has been given supreme authority, the kind of authority that no human, government, or power can ever rival.
Every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
That’s the language of victory, of sovereignty, of divine kingship
In Scripture, names represent identity and authority.
To know someone’s name was to know something of their nature and their power.
When Jesus sends His followers out in His name, He’s not just giving them permission — He’s giving them His authority to act on His behalf.
It’s as if the King of kings hands us His royal seal and says, “Go — carry My message, show My love, and bring My kingdom wherever you go.”
Illitration
Illitration
This is the kind of authority that an ambassador moves with, and that Paul describes in
We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 2 Cor. 5:20.
This will be the focus of the week 2 sermon.)
That means we don’t speak, serve, or stand in our own name.
This is important: We don’t pray hoping our words will carry weight because of our worthiness or strength.
We pray in the name that heaven recognizes — the name that commands storms to still, demons to flee, and hearts to be healed.
The name of Jesus carries divine authority over every other name: fear, shame, addiction, sickness, or despair.
When you understand His authority, it changes your posture.
You stop living from a place of insecurity or striving, and you start living from a place of confidence and peace.
You stop carrying burdens that were never yours to bear, because you remember that Jesus’ authority covers every situation you face.
So let me ask: What “names” have tried to speak louder than Jesus in your life?
Maybe the name of fear.
Maybe the name of failure.
Maybe the name of control, comparison, or doubt.
Just remember that for every name that accuses or intimidates, there is a higher name — the name of Jesus.
And when you act in His name, you don’t act alone or powerless.
You stand under His covering, walk in His confidence, and move in His victory.
Point 2: The Power of His Name
Point 2: The Power of His Name
We’ve seen that Jesus has ultimate authority—every power in heaven and earth is under His name.
But authority isn’t just a title on a throne; authority becomes meaningful when it is activated, when it is put to work.
That’s where power comes in.
The authority of His name gives Him the right to rule—but the power of His name gives Him the ability to act in your life today.
When Scripture says that every knee will bow and every tongue will confess His lordship (Philippians 2:10–11), it’s describing a reality that is both spiritual and practical.
Jesus’ name has power over the forces that oppress, discourage, or threaten us.
Throughout the Gospels, we see this power in action.
The blind receive sight, the sick are healed, storms are calmed, and even death is conquered—all through the authority and power of His name.
And the good news?
That power is not reserved for heaven alone—it is available to us today, when we pray, speak truth, and act in His name.
Living in the power of His name means that we are not left to struggle in our own strength.
We don’t have to face fear, temptation, or opposition alone.
When we step forward in Jesus’ name, we carry His power with us: the power to forgive, to love sacrificially, to stand boldly for truth, and to bring hope in the darkest places.
Think for a moment: what would change in your life if you truly believed that the name of Jesus has power over every obstacle you face?
What if every situation, no matter how hopeless, had an answer simply because you moved in His name?
Living in the power of Jesus’ name is not just about miracles—it’s about transformation.
It’s about living courageously, speaking truth, and loving boldly because the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is available to you through His name.
Point 3: The Peace of His Name
Point 3: The Peace of His Name
We’ve seen that Jesus’ name carries authority over all things and that His power is real, active, and life-changing.
But authority and power are not just meant to overwhelm or intimidate—they are meant to bring peace.
When we live under His authority and walk in His power, we step into the rest and calm that only His name can provide.
Peace is not just the absence of conflict; it is the presence of His victory and provision in every part of our lives.
The name of Jesus brings peace to those who believe.
Philippians 2 reminds us that every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
For those who belong to Him, this is not only a future event—it is a present reality.
The authority and power of His name create order in our chaos, courage in our fear, and calm in our storms.
Living in the peace of His name means trusting that you are not carrying your burdens alone.
It means letting His authority govern your decisions, letting His power sustain your courage, and letting His presence calm your anxious heart.
Imagine facing your biggest fear, your deepest worry, or your heaviest burden, and instead of succumbing to stress or doubt, you stand firm, confident that His name has authority, His name has power, and His name brings peace.
That is the promise for everyone who acts, prays, and lives in His name.
Peace in His name doesn’t mean life is without challenges—it means life is under control.
It means that whatever comes against you, you can move forward with courage and hope because Jesus has already won the ultimate victory.
Remember John 16:33,
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
Conclusion
Conclusion
When Paul wrote that God gave Jesus “the name that is above every name,” he wasn’t just describing a moment in heaven—he was revealing a truth meant to transform how we live on earth.
The name of Jesus is not a magic word or a religious formula; it’s the declaration that Christ reigns supreme.
His name represents His authority that conquers every rival, His power that transforms every heart, and His peace that steadies every storm.
When you belong to Jesus, His name covers your life.
You no longer walk in your own strength or identity—you walk in His.
That means you don’t have to fear what’s ahead, strive for control, or carry shame from what’s behind.
The authority of His name has the final word.
The power of His name is still working in you.
And the peace of His name is available right now, even in the middle of uncertainty.
As we work through this series, In His Name, let this truth sink in: everything you do, every prayer you pray, every act of love you offer—can be done in His name.
You’re not representing yourself; you’re representing the King of kings.
You don’t go in your own strength; you go in His power.
You don’t live to prove yourself; you live to make His name known.
Application: Living This Out
Application: Living This Out
This week, ask yourself:
● Where do I need to submit to the authority of Jesus’ name?
(What area of my life am I still trying to control on my own?)
● Where do I need to trust the power of His name?
(What situation feels too big or too broken for Him to handle?)
● Where do I need to rest in the peace of His name?
(Where has anxiety or fear stolen my sense of God’s presence?)
Each time you pray, each time you face a challenge, whisper His name.
Let it remind you: You carry the authority of Christ, the power of His Spirit, and the peace of His presence.
Let’s pray together.
Let’s pray together.
Salvation:
Salvation:
The Word of God says in: John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
If you’d would like to receive Jesus today, please pray this prayer with all of us:
Lord I believe that Jesus is the Son of God, and that He died On the cross for my sins and His resurrection from the dead gives me eternal life. I ask forgiveness of my sins, and I accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Amen.

23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread;
24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” (take bread)
25 In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”

26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.
