Opening Song or Hymn (However The Holy Spirit Lead Me); according how the spirit is flowing AMEN!!!
My favorite hymn 357:
I was a wandering sheep,
I did not love the fold;
I did not love my Shepherd’s voice,
I would not be controlled:
I was a wayward child,
I did not love my home;
I did not love my Father’s voice
I loved afar to roam.
Before I go any further, please bow your head for a short prayer please. Father thank you for your Son Jesus Christ, I ask in your Son name the Holy Spirit take full control and use me for your glory. I ask in your Son name for a double portion of the Holy Spirit. All praises, glory and honor belong to you, in your son Jesus Christ name AMEN!!!
First giving honor to The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. Giving honor to Dr. Sailor the Shepherd of this house, his wife and the members of First New Jordon Missionary Baptist Church. I would like to thank Dr. Sailor and the members for opening their doors to me on this wonderful occasion. Giving honor to all the Clergy, who came out to support me on this special occasion.
A Special thanks to my wife, my children, and grandchildren. Also, I like to thank my mother, (Mother, will you just wave your hand so they can see you!) my father (Mrs. Queen), my siblings. Mt. Zion Freewill Baptist Church, family and friends coming to support me on this special occasion.
I would like to take a moment to acknowledge a man that God place in my path, to help me and prepare me for this moment. If I had to describe our relationship, I would use Apostle Paul and Timothy as an analogy. He is my Apostle Paul in the ministry, and I am young Timothy starting out in the ministry. If you all don’t mind standing, please stand and give Dr. Bill Edge Sr. a hand, Pastor at Eureka Missionary Baptist Church in Albany Georgia and the Dean of Bethany Divinity College And Seminary School.
I’ve been running from doing what the Lord wanted me to do for a long time. I been having dreams and people often ask me are you a preacher, my response to them was always no. But that sounded good and very good, but I needed to make sure for myself and get heaven counsel approval. I will sum it up how I know I was called and chosen, in my 20” s. I had a dream the world was in “Black Smoke”, I was kneeling beside someone in a “Long White Garment”. The person I was kneeling besides, spoke to someone across in front of us and said, “What About Elijah”. I didn’t answer then. About a year and a half ago, the late Richard A. Ford Sr. who was my Pastor from childhood and also ordained me for a deacon on September 11, 1994. He came to me in a dream. In that dream there was a lady, he asked her can I preach. She looked at me and then I looked at her, then Pastor Ford looked at me, and I look at him, then he asks me these 4 letter words “Why You Not Preaching”. I still wouldn’t step into my ministry. About a year ago, The Holy Spirit revealed to me The Book, The Chapter and The Verses to preach from, but I still wouldn’t step out. Three months ago, before I went to sleep. I was lying in bed, I prayed and asked the Lord what I should do, I’m tired of running. When I woke up the next morning, it was revealed to me where to go and what I needed to do. I’m ready now to tell what “Thus Saith The Lord” AMEN, AMEN, AND AMEN AGAIN!!!
If you don’t mind, open your bible to the book of Isaiah, the 6TH Chapter I will begin reading at the 1ST Verse and conclude at the 10TH Verse. Then go with me to the 61STChapter and I will read only the 1ST Verse. I will be reading from the “King James Version”.
Iasiah the 6TH Chapter 1ST Verse: In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
2ND Verse: Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.
3RD Verse: And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: The whole earth is full of his glory.
4TH Verse: And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.
5TH Verse: Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.
6TH Verse: Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:
7TH Verse: And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.
8TH Verse: Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
9TH Verse: And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; And see ye indeed, but perceive not.
10TH Verse: Make the heart of this people fat, And make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes, And understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.
Isaiah 61ST Chapter 1ST Verse: The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; Because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; He hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
From the 8TH Verse: Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
I ask for your prayers as I consider my subject: Send Me Lord, I’ll Go!
Before I go into the message, I would like to consider sharing this article with you that I read about “Amazon’s, Dedication To Delivering Packages”. Amazon is always searching for better and faster ways to deliver products to customers. Never satisfied with the status quo, Amazon has tried several alternatives to UPS and FedEx. The company has asked the Federal Aviation Administration for permission to deliver packages via aerial drones. In November 2014, they were testing cab drivers for delivery in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Believers could learn from Amazon’s dedication. We need to continually be looking for new and different ways to make the greatest delivery of all: the gospel. Like Paul, we should have no bounds on preaching the good news.
God calls, chose and use who he wants at any time, and anywhere because of who God is. He graciously uses imperfect people to accomplish His perfect will. He spoke to Moses through a burning bush who slew an Egyptian and told him to tell Pharoah to let my people go. He called the Prophet Jeremiah before he was even born into the world and he was chosen from his mother’s womb, to go to his people in Judah and the other nations to deliver a message of judgment and salvation, due to their idolatry and immorality lifestyle. Ezekiel who was a Priest and a Prophet he experienced an incredible vision while in exile in Babylon. He was chosen to announce the fall of Judah and the destruction of Jerusalem. The nation faced imminent destruction and captivity at the hands of Nebuchadnezzar.
The book of Isaiah may be compared to the Bible. The reason why I made that statement, because the Bible has sixty-six books; Isaiah has sixty-six chapters; the book of Isaiah is a mini bible within the bible. Isaiah was the greatest of the Old Testament prophets and also one of the Major Prophet in the bible, also one of the most eloquent writers who ever lived. He prophesied during the reigns of five kings of Judah (Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, Hezekiah, and Manasseh “muh NASS ih uhs”). The book of Isaiah is the first of the writings of the prophets in the bible. Isaiah the prophet, his name means “Jehovah is Salvation” or “Jehovah Saves.
In the Bible, Uzziah was an extraordinary king with significant achievements under his belt, yet his pride led to his tragic end. King Uzziah's reign was marked by military success, economic prosperity, and a deep reliance on God, which catapulted “ka tuh puhl thud” Judah to new heights. As Uzziah became powerful, he strayed into arrogance “eh ruh gns”, disregarding God's laws. We must ask ourselves, in times of success, whether we are still honoring God or if we have allowed pride to blind us. The bible tells us in Proverbs 16:18: “Pride Goeth Before Destruction, And An Haughty Spirit Before A Fall”.
In Isaiah 6, the death of King Uzziah marked a pivotal moment for the prophet. After years of strong leadership, Uzziah's passing created a void, and Isaiah found himself questioning the future. When King Uzziah died, Isaiah's world was shaken; he lost a king but found himself before the King of Kings. Yet, it was in this time of uncertainty that Isaiah saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted. This moment teaches us that sometimes the loss can lead to a profound encounter with God, revealing His sovereignty even when earthly leaders fail.Instead of looking who is the White House or looking for the government for help. We should be looking to the hills whence cometh all of our help, all of our help comes from the Lord (Psalm 121:1: I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, From whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, Which made heaven and earth).
In Isaiah's time, Israel and Judah, as God's chosen people, were meant to reflect His light into a dark world. Like today your light should be shining before men, so they can see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven. King Uzziah’s death was like this darkness for Isaiah, yet it became a moment where the spotlight turned on God’s glory and majesty. Sometimes, God uses our darkest moments to shine a bright light on His presence, encouraging us to rise in faith, just as Isaiah experienced.
Judah and Israel turned their backs on God, indulging in idolatry, injustice, and moral decay. The prophet Isaiah announced judgment against Judah and Israel for their pride and disobedience. Isaiah frequently spoke to Judah and Israel about their social injustices. Their sin was a poison that affected not only their relationship with God but rippled out to influence the nations nearby, creating a toxic environment rather than a flourishing community of believers and nurturers of God’s promise. Just as Israel faced the consequences of their choices, we too will experience the effects of our sins if we are not vigilant.
Imagine a once-thriving river that begins to dry up when pollutants “puh-loo-tnts” are dumped upstream. This is a powerful image of Judah's sin as explained in Isaiah; their choices caused a spiritual drought, cutting them off from the Source of Living Water. Just as we must purify the river to restore life, so too must we cleanse our hearts of sin to experience God’s fullness.
We need to cleanse our hearts sometimes, when we fall short of God Glory. We need to say Lord “Create In Me A Clean Heart, O God; And Renew A Right Spirit Within Me” and “Cast Me Not Away From Thy Presence; And Take Not Thy Holy Spirit From Me”. And if you are thirsty this evening, I know a man that have some H20. But it’s not the H20 you get off the shelve at Walmart. All you need to do is believe in him to receive this H20 as the scriptures said and out your belly shall flow rivers of living water.
Isaiah was vigilant, he had a threefold vision: He Looked Up –– saw God; He Looked In –– saw himself; and He Looked Out –– Saw Others. Before we can work for Christ, we must have a vision. Where there is no vision, the people perish (Proverbs 29:18).
The Prophet Isaiah confesses to the Lord; he was Undone and Unclean. I’m closing on 3 Points:
1ST Point: If you feel like you “Undone”: Whatever was undone, Jesus took it to cross, He said, “It Is Finished” and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost (John 19:29). But I want to leave you with a thought, don’t let him catch you with your “Work Undone”, Jesus said I Come Quickly: And My Reward Is With Me, To Give Every Man According As His Work Shall Be (Rev. 22:12).
2ND Point: If you feel like you “Unclean”: I heard about some blood will clean you up. It’s The Blood Of Jesus, his blood Will Wash Away Your Sins, have you been washed in the blood of the lamb. Just repent and believe because your sins have been purged through the blood of Jesus (1STJohn 1:7). I heard David said “Purge Me With Hyssop “hi suhp”, And I Shall Be Clean: Wash Me, And I Shall Be Whiter Than Snow (Psalm 51:7).
Finally Point: If you think you “Unfit” for the kingdom of God, I have a simple formula to give to you, the formula is H2O, but you need something to go into the formula, that is The Holy Ghost. You must be “Born Again” to enter into the kingdom of God. Only the pure heart will see him (John 3:5-8; Matt. 5:8). But you must stay on the course if you finish your course. You can say like Apostle Paul: “I Have Fought A Good Fight, I Have Finished My Course, I Have Kept The Faith: (2ND Tim. 4:7).
Let The Holy Ghost Have His Way!!!
My Conclusion: We must remember that as Christians we must continue to seek and recognize encounters with God that can change our lives and motivations. As followers of Christ we must embrace our calling, no matter how daunting it may seem. It reassures as believers that despite our shortcomings, God equips those He calls.
Therefore, I appeal to you today as we see Isaiah approached his vision, aware of other needs around him. It serves as a powerful reminder that true fulfillment comes when we help lift the burdens of those around us. Jesus said, my yoke is easy and my burden is light Matthew 11:30). If my people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land ( 2ND Chronicles 7:14).
Romans 10:9 says: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Closing Song: LET THE CHURCH SAY AMEN
Benediction:
Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling,
And to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever.
Amen!!! Amen!!! and Amen!!!
King James Version (Jude 1ST Chapter 24TH and 25TH Verse).
