No King would feel comfortable after hearing that another person was on the way to usurp his throne. Herod was not different. As soon as he heard from the wise men, he planned on eliminating the threat. He wanted to know the exact location of the boy. Thus, he sent the wise men to Bethlehem under the false interest in worshipping the born king of the Jews. Today we will see how our Savior was preserved from falling in the hands of the evil Herod.
The flight to Egypt (vv. 13-14)
As soon as the wise men departed, Joseph was warned by an angel of the Lord in a dream, who said, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word.”
