As w e continue to tgo through the Gospel of Mark Jesus is returning to Capernaum To peters house. As the crowds continue to grow their were those of the religious leaders start to come against Jesus and what He taught.
Jesus returns to Capernaum a 2nd time. again Jesus is at Peters House Preaching the word of God.

1. And again He entered Capernaum after some days, and it was heard that He was in the house.

2 Immediately many gathered together, so that there was no longer room to receive them, not even near the door. And He preached the word to them.

3 Then they came to Him, bringing a paralytic who was carried by four men.

4 And when they could not come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying.

5 When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.”

6 And some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts,

7 “Why does this Man speak blasphemies like this? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

8 But immediately, when Jesus perceived in His spirit that they reasoned thus within themselves, He said to them, “Why do you reason about these things in your hearts?

9 Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise, take up your bed and walk’?

10 But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”—He said to the paralytic,

11 “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.”

12 Immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went out in the presence of them all, so that all were amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!”

Sin: verse1-5
Why did Jesus say your sins are forgiven.
The biggest problem men have is no their physical infirmity but spiritual problem.
When we sin our sin is against God
Psalm 51:4 “Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you may be justified in your words and blameless in your judgment.”
Our sins are against God and He just to bring Judgment against all, but yet David confesses his sin and ask for mercy .
Some commentators say this man sin is the reason why He was in this condition.
Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”
But Jesus came to forgive mankind of Their sins.
Matthew 1:21 “She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.””
So as we put our faith and trust in Jesus He forgives us of our sins.
Jesus could of just healed the man, and maybe it would of brought happiness or fulfillment for a time. but what about 2 mo or 6mo the man would still be empty .
Its like humanity today some are always looking for ways that think that can find fulfillment in other things . maybe its a job or a relationship. if i just get this thing and ill be happy, but yet when you get it your just more empty inside.
Has anyone experienced that?
But Jesus wants to go deeper the problem is deeper it in our hearts our hearts.
Jesus could of healed the physical infirmity but in time he would of been left wanting.
it isnt tell our sins are forgiven and we cultivate are relationship with God then we will be fullfilled and made whole.

11 “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.” 12 Immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went out in the presence of them all, so that all were amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!”

The Applied New Testament Commentary Jesus Heals a Paralytic (2:1–12)

Here He first forgave the man’s sins.

That was the big job.

Then, to give proof that the man’s sins were indeed forgiven, Jesus healed his body also (verse 10).
