Missions Is The Mission

Acts 13:47 ( Paul) “For so hath the Lord commanded (charge, Plea) us saying, I have set (placed in the widest application) thee to be a light of the Gentiles, (Foreign Tribes, None Jewish, Heathen) that thou shouldest be for salvation (Deliver, Rescue, save) unto ( time and place) the ends of the earth (Farthest, Uttermost region, land of the world).”

Acts 10:1–10 ( Peter) “There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band, A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway. He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius. And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God. And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter: He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do. And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually; And when he had declared all these things unto them, he sent them to Joppa. On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour: And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,”

Introduction:

Would like all in prayer, about Missions, “To The Ends of The earth...” if you haven’t ever struggled, why not? Go or Stay? Involved or not?

Children Home? See the need? No Parents, No one to love them

Village work? See the need?

The Unreached? See the need?

Cities? See the need?

Radio? See the need? Printed page? See the need? Music? See the need? Internet Outreach? See the need?

Learn another language to witness? See the need?

Note: The Need, any you see and decide you personally will do something about this?

3. Faith Promise: Why I like It.

a. All can be involved in and at any age. 2 Corinthians 8:2 “How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.”

b Faith, between you and the Lord. But Do pray about it! Nobody is baby sitting you over it.

3. Some words of Character, to Ponder. How to be used amazingly.

I. Earnest: Acts 10:2 “A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.”

A. You would have a hard time finding someone more earnest. One must have a want to, and a want to, will go a long way. You think someone some where may be making a prayer God’s Way, right now!!

B. First a willingness, a wantonness. 2 Corinthians 8:12 “For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.”

C. Cornelius: Was more than a out ward appearance of things of God.

II. Obedience: Acts 10:5 “And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter:” Did what God told him, but some faith to his prayers.

A. God seems to like seeing man do his part. Both Cornelius and Peter were obedient.

B. Through obedience, came a Hugh cultural brake through. Would turn into a land slide of souls, wow. this small begging rot a Tshuma to follow.

III. Power: Acts 10:48 “And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.”

A. Changed people: 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

1. New: Family, Standing, Vision, Kingdom, Father, Eternity, Devil prisoner. First I Am So Glad To Be Part of The Family of God.

2. I am, witness to this Power, I Have and am doing things way beyond me. Power To Change.

B. Readiness: To Go, To Serve, To Help, To Use Time, To Invest Energy, willingness to brake a up a comfort zone.

IV. Fellowship: Acts 10:28 “And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.” cf Verse43.

Acts 11:3 “Saying, Thou wentest in to men uncircumcised, and didst eat with them.”

A. Left: Something you have been doing for not just months or years but centuries. Power, A Religion, An up Bring, A Culture deeply woven in you.

B. Big steps: Steps of Standing out, Steps that are Very obviously changing, Steps of Enjoying what did not enjoy before.

V. Yearning: (A feeling of intense longing for something and To Bring Glory to Him).

A. Someone coming back from war, returning to the USA. Yearning on Both sides. No I want to see my Family, NOW! Ryan smashing the locker, Now!

B. Imaging the folks staying in the space station.

1. 16 times at 18,000 miles per hr. circling the earth.

2. 665 days is record. 2017.

3. After being in Mexico for a little time, I could have kissed the good old American soil upon return.

C. Cornelius yearning: TO KNOW GOD!! What is YOURS?
