Thankful for Faithfulness (Psalm 138)

Central Question: How should we respond to God’s Faithfulness

Central Truth: God’s faithfulness in every sphere of life calls for our thankfulness and trust in every circumstance we face.

I. Give thanks for God’s faithfulness in the past (vv. 1-3)

a. God deserves our whole-hearted praise (vv. 1-2)

b. God has proven Himself faithful before (v. 3)

II. Declare God’s faithfulness in the present (vv. 4-6)

a. Our praise points others to His greatness (vv. 4-5)

b. God’s greatness is revealed through His grace (v. 6)

III. Trust in God’s faithfulness for the future (vv. 7-8)

a. His presence sustains us in trouble (v. 7)

b. His purpose for us will be accomplished (v. 8)
