Introduction:
Loneliness is a problem everyone will face at some point.
Two are better than one. (Ecc. 4:9-12)
Seclusion may help. (Mt. 14:23)
Seclusion is not loneliness.
Those who go off for just a short amount of time are not lonely.
Jeremiah was alone.
He was around people every day.
Everyone turned against him.
David was alone. (Psa. 31:11)
People avoided him.
He was considered a terrible person.
Elijah felt alone. (1 Kings 19:9-10)
I am the only prophet left.
God provided for him.
He was given time to rest then sent back to work.
Loneliness hurts.
Some may need medical help.
Everyones situation is different.
Chronic loneliness causes stress; heart trouble, more likely to have diabetes, Alzheimers.
There are numerous causes of loneliness.

What to do when we are lonely—
Discussion:
Discussion:
Honestly examine ourselves:
Addictions? (Jas. 1:19-26)
Sometimes used to address loneliness — it is a vicious cycle.
They change the way we look at people.
Instead of feeding the addiction, you need to fight the addiction.
When you learn what the word of God says apply it to your life.
The more you study the better you will be able to handle things like loneliness.
Are you too judgmental? (Mt. 7:1-5,12)
Sometimes people withdrawal themselves from others because of how judgmental they are.
Be careful about the way you view other people.
Too inward in your thinking (Jn. 13:1-17; Gal. 5:16-6:10)
Sometimes you are too selfish.
Thinking too much about themselves.
Our savior humbled himself to the point of washing the apostles feet, including those of the one who was about to betray him, deny him, run away from him in fear.
Did Jesus only think of himself?
He was about to be tormented.
about to die.
Was Jesus thinking inward?
Gal— If you want to be lonely live this way.
If you want to have people around you, you need to show the fruit of the spirit.
Honestly examine the scriptures
Your value (Psa. 139:14; Mt. 10:29-31)
God created you and you are the only you.
God knows the hairs on our heads.
2 Pet. 3:9; John 3:16; Heb 2:17-18; Heb 1-2
God the son/Jesus is divine; greater than the angels; became lower than the angels so that he could die for us.
Is it a small thing that God calls us his children?
Christian Family (1 Jn. 3:1-3; 1 Pet. 5:5-9)
God is one who cares for us.
Your father cares for you.
1 Jn. 3:10-23; 1 Cor 12:12-26
Those who are actually fathful to God are those who truly love their brothers and sisters in Christ.
Life is hard, why go about it alone?
We have a father who cares.
We have brothers and sisters who care.
We help each other because we are family.
God wants for you (Phil. 4:4-9; 1 Pet. 1:3-9)
God wants good things for us now.
He also has good things waiting for me.
Eternal
Unimaginable.
Fervently engage in prayer (1 Sam 1; Heb 5:7)
If you pray in your mind God hears you.
She was pouring out her soul onto God.
When you are lonely talk to God.
Give God things you would not give to anyone else.
God wants to hear it from us, but he knows it already.
Do you not think your father wants to hear from you?
Jesus offered up vehement cries, to the one who could deliver him. (Heb 5:7)
2 Cor. 1:3-11; 1 Thess. 5:16-18
God wants to help us.
He is the God of peace.
Jeremiah 32:16-17, 26-28
Is there anything too hard for God?
What are you doing when you are lonely?
He can do anything.
Eph. 3:20
When I feel alone: Examine me, the word, pray.
Conclusion:
Conclusion:
Job 2:9-10; 3
Just give up Job.
Children died.
Job seems strong at first but eventually; why wasn’t I stillborn, I long for death, death would be like finding treasure.
Job did not kill himself.
God did not assist him.
Moses: Num. 11:1-15
If this is the way it will be just kill me.
God did not kill him.
Elijah 1 Kings 19:4
Just kill me.
He was suffering but did not die.
Everyone hurts.
Emotional
Physical.
Some suffer more than others.
Do not think you are the only one who suffers.
Look outward.
Preachers, preach because you love who you are speaking to.
People are very valuable to God.
You become more interested in others than yourselves.
The more you think about others the less lonely you will become.
Where no one stands alone.
