Day 9 — Christ the End of the Law

Title: “The End of Religion — The Beginning of Righteousness”

OPENING

Welcome to Day 9 of our journey through Romans 9–11.
Today we are looking at one of the most liberating truths in Scripture:
📖 Romans 10:4 (NKJV)
“For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.”
Jesus didn’t come to modify religion…
He came to end the pursuit of righteousness through human effort
and begin righteousness through grace and faith.
The law pointed to Christ.
Christ fulfilled the law.
And now — Christ gives us His righteousness.

✅

THE LAW HAD A PURPOSE

The law was holy — but it wasn’t the Savior.
📖 Galatians 3:24 (NKJV)
“Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ…”
The law taught holiness.
The law revealed sin.
The law exposed our need.
But the law could never save — only show.
It said, “Do and live.”
Jesus says, “Believe and live.”
The law was a mirror — not a ladder to heaven.

✅

CHRIST COMPLETED WHAT THE LAW COULD NOT

The law demanded perfection.
We could never meet that standard…
So Jesus did.
📖 Matthew 5:17 (NKJV)
“I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.”
Jesus satisfied the law perfectly so that we could receive righteousness freely.

✅

FAITH REPLACES STRIVING

Religion says try harder.
Jesus says trust Me.
📖 Romans 3:22 (NKJV)
“The righteousness of God which is through faith in Jesus Christ…”
You don’t earn righteousness —
you receive it.
Your salvation is not based on your performance…
It’s based on Christ’s finished work.

✅

THE HEART OF THE GOSPEL

The law could tell you what righteousness looks like…
but it could not make you righteous.
Jesus became sin so you could become righteousness.
📖 2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV)
“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”
This is the great exchange:
He took your sin — you received His righteousness.

✅

APPLICATION

Today, ask yourself:
Am I still trying to earn God’s love?
Do I measure my standing by my works or His blood?
Do I live like someone who has been made righteous?
Your righteousness is not a paycheck…
It’s a gift.
Stop striving.
Start receiving.
Walk in grace.

✅

DECLARATION

I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
I reject striving and receive grace.
Christ fulfilled the law — and I walk in His finished work.
I live by faith, not performance.
Jesus is my righteousness, my strength, and my salvation.
Amen!

🙏

PRAYER

Lord, thank You that Christ fulfilled the law on my behalf.
Thank You for gifting me righteousness by faith.
Remove every lie of religion and striving from my heart.
Teach me to walk in grace, confidence, and freedom.
Let my life reflect the finished work of Jesus.
In Your mighty name, Amen!

Paul declares that Christ is the end of the law for righteousness.
The striving ends here.
The pressure ends here.
The barrier ends here.
Righteousness no longer comes through effort —
but through faith in Christ’s finished work.
The law pointed us to holiness.
Jesus gave us holiness.
We don’t get righteous…
We are made righteous in Him.
Walk in grace.
Walk in freedom.
Walk in Christ.
