Scripture: 2 Corinthians 4:18

2 Corinthians 4:18 “So we do not focus on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
Philippians 3:19 “Their end is destruction; their god is their stomach; their glory is in their shame; and they are focused on earthly things,”

The Greek is rightly translated in the similar passage, “the pleasures of sin for a season.”

Philippians 4:8 CSB
Finally brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable—if there is any moral excellence and if there is anything praiseworthy—dwell on these things.
dwell on these things
“What are the things of heaven? How do I focus on them?”
• Whatever is true, honorable, pure, lovely, admirable, or anything that is excellent and worthy of praise from God’s standards is exactly what we should be focusing on.
• Whatever we put our minds to will dictate where our focus lies. If we think often about the wrong things, we are actively placing our focus on the things of earth.
• When we set our mind on things of excellence and of the Spirit, we fix our focus on heaven.
• This weekend, set your mind to focus on the things that are excellent and from God.
Watch how fast your focus changes and how much your life will improve.
Application: Set your mind on things that please God.
