Psalm 50

Verse 1) The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth From the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.

Notice this morning, our God is mighty!

He is all powerful, he is the infinite creator who by his word creates the world, by his word calls the sun to rise and the sun to set.

He calls the sun and moon to move on their circuit, he calls the rotation of the heavens.......

And in like fashion he is calling all mankind to worship him, to obey him, to live for him.....

sadly much of mankind spiritually are “wandering stars” who live in rebellion to their creator.

Psalm 50 is a calling to Gods people.....if your life is stated to drift off course, if the star of your faith is beginning to drift away from Gods chosen path for you.....

repent, and right your course and don't be a star wandering off course.

Notice this morning not only is God mighty....”the Lord hath spoken”

God has spoken to all mankind today,

he has spoken to us through the written word of God.

these are the words that God spake, breathed out by God, words of God that flow and proceeds from the very mouth of God.

Its the responsibility of man to hear, read and know the words that the Lord hath spoken.

Verse 3 says “our God shall not keep silence”

and know this Church, God hath spoken on every topic and issue.

God has spoken on sexual ethics, marriage ethics,

gender roles between a man and women in society, how the family should be structured, what is a man and women...how we should vote..... how we should dress, talk and live, it dose not matter what God hath spoken in some shape or form in his inspired and preserved Bible.

and when we as families, churches, communities and nation forsake the word of God,

when we drift away like wandering stars from what God hath spoken......

we embrace brokenness and dysfunction.

Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined. 3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: A fire shall devour before him, And it shall be very tempestuous round about him.4 He shall call to the heavens from above, And to the earth, that he may judge his people.

God in literary fashion is bringing the nation of Israel before him for judgment.

In this Psalm....

God will judge all the Israelites, he will vindicate those with true faith, he will correct those in error and he will cast out the wicked the unbelievers who have a vain and fruitless faith.

But when i read this verse i saw the hope of rapture, the hope of the return of Jesus Christ where he will gather all the saints from the four corners of the earth, all those who have made a covenant with God through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ.......

This is true church, Christ is coming again to gather all the saved together.

whether you believe that's the rapture or simply the second coming of Christ either way....

Hes coming back! to gather his saints!
