Secrets of Sin

First mention of sin is Genesis 4:7 “If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.”
Sin = kata (khaw-taw)
is to miss the mark
go wrong
to lose
Anytime there is sin there is a loss to a thing
we lose parts of ourselves to the sin we commit
Sin is suffering
where there is sin there is also lack in our capacity to trust God in the area of our struggle
If we struggle with greed that is to say we don’t trust God in this area to supply our needs
If we struggle with gluttony that is to say we don’t trust God in this area to satisfy our hunger
If we struggle with fornication that is to say we don’t trust God in the area of our intimacy
ALL SIN LEADS TO IS SEPARATION TO A LACK OF SATISFACTION IN GOD
Genesis provides us paths to see how sin dwells in dissatisfaction

Sin is Secretive/Deceptive 32:1

God was preparing a path, place and provision on behalf of the people through His person Moses
Just as God prepares for us, Satan will also prepare for us to detour the plans of God
We have to always ask ourselves, is this God, is this me, or is this my enemy
Who’s talking to me?!?!
The sin was taking from what God spoke for
God asked for the gold, but sin spoke up for the gold
Sin will always speak
What is your sin saying?

Sin submits to the savior

Exodus 32:32 “Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin—; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.”
