I kings 4: 20-35
I kings 4: 20-35
In 1 Kings 4:25, the phrase “each family lived under its own grapevine and under its own fig tree” is an expression symbolizing peace and prosperity, encompassing both material and spiritual well-being[1][2]. This passage reflects God fulfilling His covenant with Abraham, and indicates that life was particularly good during Solomon’s kingdom[2]. Solomon’s reign extended over all kingdoms, which aligned with the divine promises previously given to Abraham, Moses, and Joshua[2]. Interestingly, Solomon’s extensive military buildup, particularly his accumulation of horses, contradicted the divine mandate against kings multiplying military resources, as this could potentially become a source of misplaced confidence rather than trust in God[2].
