2 Peter 5:10: In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.

Dear heavenly Father, I come to you as a humble servant asking for your help and thanking you for the opportunity to preach your word. Lord speak to me as I speak your people on today. Let me decrease as your Spirit increase in me. I pray that the people will encounter you and your spirit like never before. I pray that my testimony will be confirmation of what somebody has prayed for or a sign of surrender to yield their will to yours. Bless the man of God of this church, his family, and members in Jesus name, Amen.

I would like to thank my Pastor James Kendrick Sr. of Transforming Lives Bible Church in Augusta, GA for releasing me to preach the word this morning. I would like to thank my mother Angelica Hatcher for always having my back, persevering with me, and seeing me the God in me, love you. My daughter, Natalie, mama sweet girl, I am always grateful for her supporting me through it all, mommy love you. Thank you Pastor Frazier and Lady for allowing me the opportunity to stand before the church and preach the word on this morning. I am forever grateful and to all leadership and members in their perspective places blessings to you. THERE IS A WORD ON THIS MORNING........

PAUSE (lift up a praise)

Peter is writing to the Elders providing with instructions on how to lead the people by example. That they do so in a way pleasing to God not for just for show. According to 1 Corinthians 9:25–27 “Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.”

I came today to encourage the Elders today, it may feel like the young people are listening but they are watching.....

Likewise, young people are to submit to the Elder(s) that means authority in and out of the church.

The enemy is seeking whom he may devour and with all we have going on in the world right now if the word and submission to God’s authority must be planted in your spirit.

When the enemy tell you don’t have enough you begin to tell him My God will supply all my needs

When the enemy say what are you going to eat you say, “God has never seen the righteous forsaken and if he fed the 5 thousand with two fish and five loathes he will definitely provide me.

BUT THIS IS WHEN IT GETS GOOD....… VERSE 10!!!!!

Before I give you all the scripture let me give a brief testimony....

I believed that I was submitted to God

I believed I was obedient to my Elders

I believed I resisted the devil, but even the most dedicated, faithful servants can grow weary (IS THERE ANYONE HERE THAT CAN ATTEST TO THAT)

I was on deployment (since this is a Veterans Day service) and I was going to services onboard, being kind to my shipmates, etc. and I was tested......

I couldn’t stand here before you all with a testimony without a test......

After you have suffered a while/Restoration is Coming:

The world is facing shortages in food, money, and other resources but know restoration is on the horizon

2 Chronicles 7:14 “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Support/Strengthen:

As the leaders and Elders we are to provide support to those in need......

Job 22:29 “When people are brought low and you say, ‘Lift them up!’ then he will save the downcast.”
