Romans 5:12–21 “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Why Judgement.

Is it fair that judgement was passed on you and me because of what Adam done?

a. Since we are all descendants of Adam, the now sinful nature was passed down to everyone.

The judgement place on all involved in the Eden Explosion

Serpent was cursed above all cattle and every beast of the field. Was made to crawl upon his belly. Also there would be a division, a savior, that would bruise the serpents head while the serpent would only bruise his heal. Genesis 3:14–15 “And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”

Woman was now going to face pain in childbirth and her husband would have rule over her Genesis 3:16 “Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.”

The man was going to work a ground that was now cursed with thorns and thisles. It wasn’t that the ground done wrong but the curse was for the man. He was now going to have to eat by the sweat of his face ( hard labor) and now because of the transgression against God, now death was pronounced not only on Adam but on all of his descendants.

This puts new light on Romans 5:12 “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:”

Man was now banned from the garden of Eden and the relationship between God and man was broken. However God made the promise of a deliverer to come.

This deliverer would be the only hope man would ever have have with having a relationship with a holy and just God.
