We had a great time yesterday at the Fields of Faith hosting was the “Fellowship of Christian Athletes” we had a number of church represented New Covanatant Presprestrian chruch, We had Greater Grace Baltimore, Mount Christian Church and there Edgewood branch Epicenter, We had Connecting church
Moreover the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah a second time, while he was still shut up in the court of the prison, saying,
“Thus says the Lord who made it, the Lord who formed it to establish it (the Lord is His name):
Jeremiah is in a place called the “Court of The Guard” or “Court yard of the guard.
It was a place within the palace complex where prisoners were confined.
Jeremiah had some freedom of movement.
It is possible that the courtyard was only being used temporarily to house (mostly political) prisoners during times of crisis.
While he is inside the Courtyard of the guard the Lord is speaking to him.
‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’
Mighty things- means inaccessible its the same word used to describe something that is fortified.
Something that is inaccessible by fortifying it or enclosing it.
Ordinary people cannot access spiritual things.
Only God can unlock the secrets of the future. He offered this knowledge to Jeremiah.
God was revealing unsearchable truth while Jeremiah was confined in a prison.
He was restricted in movement.
He was restricted in excess
He was restricted in fellowship
He was restricted in seeing the siege
But yet He excess to the One who was inaccessible.
He had more freedoms then those who weren’t imprisoned.
Imagine having more more wisdom and insight being confined in a prison. then one who can freely roam and have excess to so much.
Just because one could have mobility and freedom doesn’t mean one could have more access to God and His future plans.
Just because one is rich and have great power doesn’t mean there life is fulfilled.
We look at riches as being enablers. And they can be if those riches are sown back into the work of God.
Jeremiahs confinement doesn’t mean he has less access to God.
“The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.
God gave Jeremiah an invitation to prayer.
“The invitation suggests that divine revelation becomes reality when it is sought”
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask.
You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.
Divine revelation becomes a divine reality when we pursue it!
Yesterday we seen some young people calling upon the name of The Lord. They are presenting the gospel. To those who have been wanting to connect with Him who is inaccessible now they have access.
Divine revelation is impregnable apart from calling on the Lord.
You can’t capture it by mere good deeds. It requires us to call upon the Name of He Lord.
Let’s turn
“I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.
However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
God doesn’t give us all truth at once because we wouldn’t be able to bear it.
But the Spirit of truth guides us into all truth.
This is guidance in the “whole sphere of truth.”
truth how its related to my wife
Truth how its related to my kids
Truth how its related to my sexuality
Truth how its related to my free time.
Truth how its related to my church life.
The roll of The Spirit is not independant of Christ. But it reveals what ever Jesus has spoke to Him.
The same was Jesus reveals whatever the Father has spoken to Him. They are One.
1. “The Holy Spirit said I don’t need to forgive them.”
Biblical reality: Jesus commands us to forgive seventy times seven (Matthew 18:21–22).
Funny version: “The Spirit said this time it’s fine to be petty.”
2. “The Holy Spirit told me to leave my spouse for my soulmate at church.”
Biblical reality: God hates divorce and calls us to honor our marriage covenant (Malachi 2:16, Matthew 19:6).
Funny version: “God said my destiny is with that worship leader — not the wife I promised to love forever.”
3. “God told me not to tithe this month — He said I should use the money for new shoes.”
Biblical reality: We’re called to be generous and honor God with our wealth (Proverbs 3:9).
Funny version: “The Spirit confirmed these Jordans are essential to my calling.”
4. “The Holy Spirit told me to skip church. I can get closer to God on the golf course.”
Biblical reality: Don’t neglect meeting together (Hebrews 10:25).
Funny version: “Sunday service is now greenside fellowship.”
5. “God said it’s okay to lie a little — it’s for a good cause.”
Biblical reality: Lying is never sanctioned by God (Ephesians 4:25).
Funny version: “The Spirit said He’d cover it. That’s divine insurance, right?”
6. “The Holy Spirit told me I don't need accountability — I’m at level 10 holiness now.”
Biblical reality: We all need correction, accountability, and humility (Proverbs 27:17, 1 Corinthians 10:12).
Funny version: “I’m spirit-led, untouched by human error — except when I’m not.”
7. “God said I can cuss if I’m speaking truth.”
Biblical reality: Let no corrupting talk come from your mouth (Ephesians 4:29).
Funny version: “I’m not angry — I’m prophetically passionate.”
He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.
All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.
Notice the seven steps that are here: (1) The Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, has come; (2) He will guide you into all truth; (3) He will not speak of Himself; (4) He shall speak whatsoever He shall hear; (5) He will show you things to come; (6) He shall glorify Jesus; and (7) He shall receive of mine and show it unto you.
J. Vernon Mcgee said, “ I listened to a man on a radio program saying, “We are having a Holy Ghost revival; the Holy Ghost is working: the Holy Ghost is doing this and that.” The minute he said all those things, I knew the Holy Ghost was not working. Why? Because the Lord Jesus made it very clear that the Holy Ghost will not speak of Himself. Then how can you tell when the Holy Spirit is working? He will glorify Christ
As we engaged God we have to be careful that we don’t have a “crystal-ball” mentality, that is seeking to know the future. While neglecting to live for God in the present.
We don’t have a crystal ball mentality.
What is a crystal ball mentality? This was a ancient method of fortune-telling.
This was away to gain hidden knowledge or predict the future through supernatural means.
Fortune-tellers and clairvoyants would gaze into a glass or crystal ball, entering a trance-like state to supposedly view future events
How can we be crystal ball Christians?
1. Obsessive End-Times Prediction
Constantly trying to decode biblical prophecy or current events to pinpoint the exact date of Jesus’ return.
Using numerology, secret codes, or headlines to match up with verses in Revelation or Daniel.
Buying into every new "prophetic" prediction about world events without discernment.
Example: "The blood moon in March means the rapture will happen in 90 days!"
2. Treating Prayer Like a Fortune-Telling Session
Asking God to reveal the specific future (e.g., who you will marry, what your exact career will be), rather than seeking wisdom and character to make godly choices.
Expecting spiritual signs for every life decision, as though God must reveal the hidden future before we act at all.
Example: “I won’t make a move until God tells me clearly if this job will make me rich.”
🔮 3. Elevating Personal "Revelations" Over Scripture
Relying heavily on visions, dreams, or "words" that claim special knowledge about future events.
Using spiritual experiences to predict or control future outcomes—and pressuring others to accept them.
Example: “God told me that the stock market will crash next month. You need to sell all your investments.”
🕯️ 4. Using Bible Verses as Fortune Cookies
Flipping through Scripture to find a specific “verse of the day” to tell you exactly what will happen to you, rather than allowing the whole counsel of Scripture to shape your life.
Example: Reading about David becoming king and assuming it means you will get a promotion this year.
💰 5. Prosperity Prophecy
Claiming that God guarantees wealth, health, or success based on speaking certain words or making specific faith-based transactions.
Presenting God as a genie who reveals “secrets” for unlocking personal fortune.
Example: “Sow your seed today, and God will give you a financial overflow by January!”
🧠 What’s the Issue?
Crystal ball Christianity:
Reduces faith to magical thinking.
Replaces trust in God with attempts to manipulate the future.
Swaps wisdom and obedience for speculation and anxiety.
God can reveal what he desires to whom he desires and when he desires.
He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.
“For thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city and the houses of the kings of Judah, which have been pulled down to fortify against the siege mounds and the sword:
‘They come to fight with the Chaldeans, but only to fill their places with the dead bodies of men whom I will slay in My anger and My fury, all for whose wickedness I have hidden My face from this city.
Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.
And I will cause the captives of Judah and the captives of Israel to return, and will rebuild those places as at the first.
I will cleanse them from all their iniquity by which they have sinned against Me, and I will pardon all their iniquities by which they have sinned and by which they have transgressed against Me.
Then it shall be to Me a name of joy, a praise, and an honor before all nations of the earth, who shall hear all the good that I do to them; they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and all the prosperity that I provide for it.’
“Thus says the Lord: ‘Again there shall be heard in this place—of which you say, “It is desolate, without man and without beast”—in the cities of Judah, in the streets of Jerusalem that are desolate, without man and without inhabitant and without beast,
the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of those who will say: “Praise the Lord of hosts, For the Lord is good, For His mercy endures forever”— and of those who will bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord. For I will cause the captives of the land to return as at the first,’ says the Lord.
“Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘In this place which is desolate, without man and without beast, and in all its cities, there shall again be a dwelling place of shepherds causing their flocks to lie down.
In the cities of the mountains, in the cities of the lowland, in the cities of the South, in the land of Benjamin, in the places around Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, the flocks shall again pass under the hands of him who counts them,’ says the Lord.
‘Behold, the days are coming,’ says the Lord, ‘that I will perform that good thing which I have promised to the house of Israel and to the house of Judah:
‘In those days and at that time I will cause to grow up to David A Branch of righteousness; He shall execute judgment and righteousness in the earth.
In those days Judah will be saved, And Jerusalem will dwell safely. And this is the name by which she will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS’
the name by which she will be called. some translation is it.
However, by changing “Israel” to “Jerusalem” and by changing the preposition “he” to “it” (lāh, lit., “to her”) Jeremiah made the title, The Lord Our Righteousness apply to the city of Jerusalem instead of to the Messiah. The city will take on the same characteristics as the Lord who will dwell within her (cf. Ezek. 48:35).
