Are you loving your wife as Christ loves the church? How? Consider specific examples of
Christlike love you have expressed through surrendering, sancEfying, forgiving,
honoring, nourishing, and cherishing. Would your wife agree with your answer?

How have you viewed the husband’s role of leadership in the home? What model or
mentor have you followed who might not exactly align with Christ’s example (a father,
grandfather, or friend)? What were some of the shortcomings of that human example
that may have influenced your approach to marriage?

Have you tended more toward the extreme of tyranny, being “the boss” rather than the
gentle shepherd of the family? Or have you tended toward the extreme of passivity,
failing to take seriously your leadership responsibiliEes?
