Today I intend to bring this series to a close. I have attempted to educate you in the history of the United States through a Biblical lens, so as you can greater see where we are in the present.
With this final message and in recognition of Veterans Day, I hope to tie these two together in this message, "The Fight for America."
The text in which I chose for our springboard today is focusing on a battle where there is an enemy on either side. But the main verse that I want you to really study on is verse number 12.
2 Samuel 10:12Be of good courage, and let us play the men for our people, and for the cities of our God: and the Lord do that which seemeth him good.” THIS IS THE BATTLE CRY I AM CRYING OUT TODAY!
Be Courageous
Be Men
For our people
Four our cities of our God
AND GOD WILL DO WHAT’S RIGHT
In other words, it doesn't matter who the enemy is or where they're at. What we need to do is be courageous and fight for our people in our country, and God will take care of the rest.
I believe this to be true then and now, and I pray that you do as well.
That being said, we're going to look 1. The Conflict.

I. The Conflict

Our Present Condition
The ‘Sit-Rep’ - Situation Report.
A little less than two months ago, Charlie Kirk was murdered. What happened next was a great swelling of emotion and movement. Many people were claiming we were in the midst of a revival. I was hopeful, but also cautious - for this reason: (Ill.) I remember the days after 9/11. I remember Republicans and Democrats singing "God Bless America" on the steps of the Capitol. That bout of unity did not last long, did it?
Let me ask you this: two months since Charlie's murder, are we still having revival? For most, that is a no. And the reason being is many people's view on revival is no more than a swelling of emotion. That's all it is. Once the emotion is gone, so has their ‘revival’.
Let's speak for a moment about the election that took place this past Tuesday.
A socialist named Mamdani was elected mayor of New York City.
A man by the name of Jay Jones, who wished the death on his political opponents, was elected Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
(Show the texts)
The woman who was elected governor of Virginia wouldn't even denounce him as a candidate.
The Democrats with their socialist agendas were sweepingly elected into office. This is not good, nor does it bode well for the future.
And in case you missed it, there was a Maine woman - convicted killer - who was elected to the her cities town council.
WE HAVE OFFICIALLY ENTERED THE TWILIGHT ZONE!
I could go on about where we're at with the government shutdown and such, but I think this is a good illustration to show just exactly where we're at in this country. If this is accurate as far as how it shows where we're at as a country, we are in bad trouble.
Our Present Condition
Our Expected Course
I have already alluded to it. But there are three distinct things working against the Christian faith in this country right now:
The level of warfare that is being waged
Church, violence, vitriol is escalating. It USED to be that Democrats only celebrated the deaths of unborn children, now they are celebrating the deaths of political opposition.
The attempts on DJT’s life (3)
Charlie’s murder
All of the celebrations that occurred following it
The election of these people advocating or condoning by silence violence
The temperature is rising
The lackadaisical approach by Christians.
Christians are SLEEPWALKING THROUGH THIS TIME!
It’s like bombs are going off all around us and all we an do is shake our heads and say ‘What a shame… tsk, tsk’
Christians need to WAKE UP
The lackadaisical approach by Christians.
The Sin Nature of Man
Our nature will drive us further into sin - That's the natural course of man without godly intervention.
When you put these three things together: America is on the fast track to destruction and insolvency.
Our Expected Course is to wax worse & worse - until destruction comes
That’s the Conflict - that’s where we’re at today. Next we’ll look at the Charge

II. The Charge

What can we do about it?
This entire series and all the history in which I have given you has led up to this point. If you, as I, have been disgusted with the trajectory of this nation, the things that are currently going on right now and wondering “what can I do to help”? This is what you can do. And I'm going to challenge you with doing these things for the sake of our nation.
This is the Charge unto you today
Pray Fervently
You've heard me multiple times stress this very point: nothing will happen without God's intervention. And in order for God to intervene, we must be praying. Not just praying as if it matters not, but praying fervently, knowing that prayer makes a difference!
Praying as though our lives, our nation, our children's lives depended on it because it does!
(Ill.) Picture yourself in an elevator cart. The cable breaks. The doors are shut. And now you are racing to your doom. How would you pray in that moment? That is the type of fervency we need to be praying for our country!
Church, I'm calling on you to pray and in two areas specifically:
For Revival
Revival today is not beyond the power of God!
Revival today is not beyond our reach!
Revival today is possible, but revival is impossible without the prayers of God’s people!
2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
We need revival today, and not just an emotional swelling that will fade, but true revival.
I was asked about what revival means recently, as I pondered upon it, I believe it would look like this:
What does it mean to see revival?
It is an excitement of the motivations in the passions that you once held.
It is unction coupled with action
It is a re-prioritization of things in your life where God and the things of God come first
It is a renewal of the way we see things - a "fresh anointing of the eyes"
Pray DAILY for Revival
For Laborers
The Bible tells us: Matthew 9:36–38 “But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
God needs willing hearts to labour for the cause of Christ!
Let me ask you this, do you labour for Christ? Would you classify what you do for the Lord as labor?
If you will not or cannot labor, at least you can pray for laborers.
Pray DAILY for Laborers
Repent of Sin
Many Christians are harboring sin in their lives. This sin is a hindrance to their Christian walk and their testimony before God and man.
You cannot expect God to bless you, to hear your prayers, to save this nation if you are wallowing in your sin. And make no mistake. Your preacher may not know your sin. Your family might not know your sin. But rest assured God knows your sin. And He is the only one that truly matters.
Church, not knowing your sin, I cannot give you any more specificities than that. But you know your sin. God is revealing that sin that you are harboring in your heart at this very moment. You need to repent, turn from that sin, if you're going to do your part to save this great nation.
2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
You must repent of sin.
Read your Bible
(Ill.) Here's a question for you: If you spent as much time hearing from your wife/husband/children/best friend as you do spending time hearing from God, what would your relationship be like?
I'm here to tell you that you cannot have a solid relationship with God unless you spend time in His Word. There is no substitute. Going to church is not a substitute. Hearing from the preacher is not a substitute. These are supplements to your Christian walk and to your relationship with God, they cannot be the basis!
Personal time in the Word of God is absolutely necessary.
We live in a day and age where Christians have God's Word and instruction at their fingertips and they forsake it. My friends, this should not be.
I am challenging you to read at least one chapter a day in the Bible. This would truly take you less than ten minutes.
Is hearing from God not worth ten minutes of your day?
Is hearing from God not important enough to make sure that it happens every day?
You must read your Bible
Win lost Souls
As Paul rightly told us, Ephesians 6:12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
While our adversaries are treating this as a physical battle, we understand that it is a spiritual battle. The only way for us to win a spiritual battle is spiritually. These people need Jesus. Jesus died for them too.
We need to be about our Father's business. In telling them that there is a heaven to gain and a hell to shun, we need to win lost souls.
Cannot look at this as if that's the preacher's job or that's the teacher's job. It is every Christian's job to win souls for Christ.
You do not have to be eloquent of speech. You do not have to know all the ins and outs of the Bible. All you need is courage to do what you've been called to do! NO CHRISTIAN IS EXEMPT FROM THIS DUTY!
You must win lost souls
Commit to Discipleship
The church body is a one large family. The problem with the church body today is you have a handful of spiritually mature Christians and a multitude of babes. We all need to commit to discipleship.
Let me explain what this looks like, as it’s two-fold.
The spiritually mature Christians need to invest time in those babes.
If you feel like you are a Christian that has a lot of growing to do, you need to find someone to help mentor you and disciple you, so that you can go from the sincere milk of the Word to the meat of the Word.
Christians need to commit to discipleship, one way or the other. And in most instances, it's both.
I challenge you this day to commit to either:
Becoming a disciple and allowing someone to tutor you in the things of God
Taking someone under your wing, spending time, and discipling them
Commit to Discipleship
Advocate Biblical Values
One of the reasons, I would say the main reason, we are in the shape that we are in today with all the wickedness that is taking place, is Christians have been silent when we should have spoken up.
In every place, in every way, we need to be standing for biblical values.
Many of you are on social media. Let me ask you this: Are you standing for what's right on social media? I'm not saying are you posting little, light-hearted memes. I'm saying are you taking a stand for the hard things?
We can afford to be silent no longer. Don't you see that? We must advocate biblical values any time we have the opportunity.
Advocate Biblical values.
Vote the Bible
Two things that I'll have to say about this:
Need to Vote
This topic was brought up in a pastor's meeting that I attended, and I could not believe it. So I looked it up myself. Among self-identified Christians, about 56% voted in 2024.
ONLY HALF of ‘Christians’ voted in 2024. Why? If you are a Christian and you're not voting, I would love to know why. God has put you in a land where we have an opportunity to shape the culture, and you are not taking advantage of it?
And it doesn't matter if you think your vote matters. What matters is you are duty-bound as a Christian to cast your vote.
You need to Vote
Needs to be Biblical
I think in the past meetings, I have clearly presented that the Democrats' agenda, at least right now, is anti-Bible. But I am not here to tell you to vote Republican, Independent, or Democrat. I am telling you that as a Christian, you have a moral duty to vote Biblical principles.
It doesn't matter what you think. It doesn't matter what your mommy and daddy think. It doesn't matter what party you've been affiliated with for 50 years. What matters is what God said! We as Christians are in the business of aligning ourselves unto the Word of God, not trying to take the Word of God and align it unto our notions.
You need to vote, and it needs to be biblically based. And I will gladly have a one-on-one discussion if you think somehow the Democratic Party platform has a biblical foundation.
We've looked at the conflict. I have given unto you the charge. Lastly, I want to look at the conclusion.

III. The Conclusion

One for our Country
The road that America is on is leading somewhere. Make no mistake. There will come a conclusion to the story of America, one way or the other.
But as it stands right now, our country is facing financial bankruptcy, moral bankruptcy, and spiritual bankruptcy. And God will judge America.
But I believe with all my heart we can change this. Christians can change this course we're on, but it's up to us to do so!
There is a conclusion for our country
One for each Citizen
You and I are going to have our own little conclusion as well. Before I finish this message today, I want to tell you a story. (Show image - (Ill)) This young lady you are looking at, her name is Sarah Cavanaugh. She was in the United States Marine Corps and was wounded in combat by an IED in Iraq and then suffered from service-related cancer. The only problem is none of that is true. She lied about it. She was a social worker at the Department of Veterans Affairs and gained information to present herself as what I described.
Now, what does this have to do with the message today?
To the eyes of many, Sarah Ferguson was a servant and had given herself to the calls before her, but she was a liar and a poser. She was never a veteran.
Church, there's going to come a day when you and I stand before the judgment seat of Christ. When you stand before the Lord, will you stand there such as one as Audie Murphy, who gave himself completely to the cause, and will hear the words, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant"? Or will you stand there like Sarah Cavanaugh, a poser, one who never truly was invested in the cause.
The church has entirely too many people that have enlisted but are refusing to fight. They are the "conscientious objectors." We need people that will stand up and do what's right. God needs people willing to serve; he doesn't need posers.
What will the end of your story look like?

Invitation

Today, I have given you three things:
The state of our country,
Our duties as Christians in this hour,
And what will happen to both our nation and us as individuals depending upon our actions.
My question to you is, are you going to do your part?
I listed what you can do… Let me ask you this - what will you do? The list in which I gave may be too much for you right now, but surely you can start somewhere on this list. Maybe you will say:
Well, preacher, I don't know if I can do all that, but I can pray. Will you commit to praying for 20 minutes a day? Will you pray for revival? Will you pray for laborers? Can you do that?
How many of you know that you have sin in your heart and God's telling you you need to deal with it? I wonder if you will come to the altar and tell God, "I give it up. I give it up for the cause of Christ."
How many of you would commit to taking ten minutes out of your day and just reading one chapter in the Bible every day? If you'll do that, will you come and commit that to God right now?
How many of you know that people need the Lord? Who will commit that you will speak to at least one person this week about Jesus?
Everyone should be at this altar today. If God is not dealing with your heart that you need to do something, then I submit to you, you do not know the salvation of the Lord.
When we leave this church today, I want you to consider that you have now been deployed into the battlefield and conduct yourself as such. Therefore, when you stand before the Lord, you will stand there as a veteran, and not with stolen valor.
What’s the POINT of the message?
