As a reminder Jude is written to the Church somewhere in Israel, and likely made up of mostly Jewish believers in Jesus as Messiah.
Jude is the brother of James and Jesus, though not an early disciple during the life of Jesus.
Jude came to faith in Jesus due to the resurrection and outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
The letter of Jude is on one topic -
Defending the faith against ungodly men who have crept in the church to sow heresy so as to divide the Body of Christ.

THREE HISTORY LESSONS OF HOW GOD PROTECTS HIS GLORY FROM WOLVES.
God judged the Apostasy of Israel even after delivering them from Egypt.
Killed those who le the worship of the gold calf, Korah and those who followed, etc.
But God would not do that today - Acts 5- Annanias & Sapphira.
God judged the angels who sexually raped women in Gen 6 -
4 For if God didn’t spare the angels who sinned but cast them into hell and delivered them in chains of utter darkness to be kept for judgment;
3. God judged the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah for gross immorality.
JUDE GIVES US THESE EXAMPLES SO THE TRUE CHURCH CAN REST ASSURED THAT GOD WILL PROTECT HIS CHURCH AND GLORY FROM THESE WOLVES.
9 then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment, 10 especially those who follow the polluting desires of the flesh and despise authority. Bold, arrogant people! They are not afraid to slander the glorious ones;

8 In the same way these people—relying on their dreams—defile their flesh, reject authority, and slander glorious ones. 9 Yet when Michael the archangel was disputing with the devil in an argument about Moses’s body, he did not dare utter a slanderous condemnation against him but said, “The Lord rebuke you!” 10 But these people blaspheme anything they do not understand. And what they do understand by instinct—like irrational animals—by these things they are destroyed.
First, notice what they rely on for authority!
Dreams -
The Bible is not against God giving us dreams but all sources of Godly knowledge and wisdom must align to His Word!
Defile their flesh - Sexual sins
Reject authority - They reject the authority of Jesus by replacing his Word with their dreams. Thus they reject Church authority that stans on the Word of God.
Slander glorious ones -
This is an OT reference to spiritual beings and we are given clues to know this is is reference to demons.
They insult the demonic realm not realizing these are fallen beings who have power.
Example - Michael appeals to the Lord to Rebuke Satan.
These are men who are puffed in pride and want you to believe they have unique power over the spiritual world.

They are waterless clouds carried along by winds; trees in late autumn—fruitless, twice dead and uprooted. 13 They are wild waves of the sea, foaming up their shameful deeds; wandering stars for whom the blackness of darkness is reserved forever. 14 It was about these that Enoch, in the seventh generation from Adam, prophesied: “Look! The Lord comes with tens of thousands of his holy ones 15 to execute judgment on all and to convict all the ungodly concerning all the ungodly acts that they have done in an ungodly way, and concerning all the harsh things ungodly sinners have said against him.” 16 These people are discontented grumblers, living according to their desires; their mouths utter arrogant words, flattering people for their own advantage.

They are complainers, always looking at the faults of others. Speaking arrogantly about themselves, and they flatter people for the sake of gaining advantage.
THE FRUIT OF THEIR MINISTRY/WORK -

THINK OF THEM AS COTTON CANDY COMPARED TO STEAK!
Dangerous reefs IN YOUR LOVE FEASTS - They will participate in the most intimate aspects of the faith while only caring for themselves.
Clouds without water - they give nothing that brings life.
They look like the real thing but produce no living fruit.
