Opening Scripture

Matthew 12:36–37 NIV
But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”
Speech reveals the hearts condition.
Jesus rebukes the Pharisees for attributing His miracles to demonic power. (Matt 12:33-35)
Their blasphemous speech reveals corruption of the heart
verses 36–37 extend that principle universally: our words serve as moral diagnostics of the soul.
Jesus equates words with moral actions.
Apart of the struggle to be social is not being mindful of what we say and how we say it to others from social media to in person.
Our Words have weight to them rather if they are spoken/released with purpose or not.

Words That Build, NOT Break

Ephesians 4:29 NIV
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
We are to use our words to build one another up, NOT tare one another down…
Often times we use unwholesome talk when we are “joking” not realizing that we are setting the stage for potential hurt or even offense.
What we may find funny — someone else may find offensive.
We can still joke and have fun in our conversations without offending or upsetting someone else.
If we are NOT careful and mindful of how we use our words we can break more than we build up
There are people are afraid to be social because of previous breaks they have received from others words.

Stirred, NOT Separated

Hebrews 10:24–25 NIV
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
We are to encourage one another — this is an important part of being social
In order to be social we must first willing to become connected.
Often times we become shy or afraid because there is always that possibility of us being betrayed or hurt.
This is why we put our Faith and trust more in God than we do anyone or anything else!
Community is super important — God doesn’t intend for us to live this Christian life in a lonely state.
Community is vital for spiritual growth.

Called To Walk Together, NOT Alone

Galatians 6:2 NIV
Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
We are to help each other with one another’s burdens (struggles).
Before we can help someone else with their struggle/issue we must first take care of what we are dealing with or going through.
It can be tempting to walk alone but we will soon realize that it will be way harder.
Not Every community (Church) will be for everyone — The Apostle’s were sent out to different regions…
Because you haven’t found a community YET doesn’t mean there isn’t one for you!!
We should let the Lord guide and order our steps to the right Church (community) that he has set apart for us…
There is no such thing as a perfect community (Church) — Stay planted and let the Lord order your next steps.
