In the predawn hours of Jesus’ trial, hypocrisy and superstition collide with God’s eternal plan. Religious leaders cling to appearances while violating God’s law, Pilate wrestles with justice yet compromises, and the crowd chooses Barabbas the false “son of the father” over Christ, the true Son of the Father. This exposes the emptiness of religion without relationship and reveals Christ’s unstoppable purpose: He was born to die, fulfilling prophecy as the Lamb of God. The sermon calls believers to reject substitutes, idols, and hollow devotion, and instead embrace the crucified King who alone restores us to God through truth, obedience, and atonement.
