God is incredible— HE IS ONE OF A KIND… He is GOD!
YET HE CONTINUES TO REACH DOWN AND COMMUNION WITH US!
How does He do that? He used...
The 10 Commandments
Prophets
Visions
Dreams
Impressions or Discernment of our spiritual surroundings
Pains of life
Trials and Temptations and
even our Poor decisions.
GOD IS GOD AND HE ALWAYS WILL BE GOD!
What are things that God CANNOT DO?
Have you thought about it before?
We are about to enter into a time of corporate worship and my concern is... will you be able to pour your heart out to the God that you feel hasn’t come through for you in the past?
The God, Who we feel like CAN’T DO CERTAIN THINGS?
There are 3 Things God can’t do:
He cannot Lie
He cannot go against His Word
He cannot work in confusion
ON THE FLIP SIDE...
WE CANNOT be double-minded and unwavering and expect to receive of God
CONFUSION IS NOT OF GOD!
James 1:6–8 ESV
6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
DECLARING THAT…
“I Am Thankful” is to also DECLARE...
“I believe and have faith in spite of the situations I am in!”
Oswald Chambers, author of MY UPMOST FOR HIS HIGHEST, gives a great description of this God that leads us to all truth.
“God is the Great Engineer, creating circumstances to bring about moments in our lives of divine importance, leading us to divine appointments.”  ~Oswald Chambers, author
The Bible says God actively works through our circumstances. Thus, we cannot judge our situation apart from God’s wisdom.
Romans 8:28 ESV
28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
In other words, we must leave it up to God to interpret our circumstances.
Only he is capable of understanding all the facts,
Only he sees the significance of every detail.
:: That’s why it is so important that we test it all by his Word::
AS WE GO TO WORSHIP THE KING OF KINGS, LORD OF LORDS Paul wrote to Timothy...
1 Timothy 1:17 KJV 1900
17 Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
GIVING THANKS… is a pre-curser to God presence.
Psalm 100:4 ESV
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!
LET’S WORSHIP THIS MORNING AND EXPECT TO RECIEVE OF GOD AS WE:
REPLACE CONFUSION with TRUST AND
REPLACE DISBELIEF with faith filled BELIEF.
PRAYER
FATHER, WE COME BEFORE YOU WITH ALL OUR HEART AND BEING as we ENTER with THANKSGIVING and into YOUR PRESENCE WITH PRAISE…we position ourselves at your feet and we expect to receive from You. In Jesus Name. AMEN!
Generosity and Obedience

CURRENT SERIES: I Am Thankful- Acting on His Word and Spirit
LESSON:I AM THANKFUL!
THE COIN (take a few coins)
A coin must
have both sides to have a specific worth and
have legit value for spending and trading.
It must also be accepted in our society as valid currency / money.
such as Canadian Money has value in Canada, but is not valid in America — it must be exchanged
each nation sets up their accepted currency.
COIN FROM COLLECTION...
some coins or groups of coins are collectable and not normally used as day to day currency.
OUR FAITH doesn’t stand on its own.
Faith is like a coin— it has sides
Belief and Trust (without both of these there is no real VALUE)
Hebrews 10:22 ESV
22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
Romans 10:9–10 ESV
9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
Belief is an action taken in the heart, “to believe”
Confession is an action that separates us from the world— the declaration of trusting is not mere words, but doing.
James 1:22 ESV
22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
IN THIS SEASONAL SERIES: I Am Thankful
We have talked about how we need both THE WORD and THE SPIRIT active in our daily lives.
Speaking God's Word holds immense POWER.
capable of creating,
transforming, and
influencing lives
Walking in the Spirit refers to living a life guided by the Holy Spirit.
HS helps us put of the flesh and embrace the Spirit’s way.
HS helps Christians how to conduct themselves enabling them to resist temptation and live victoriously.
HS signifies a departure from an old life of bondage and focus on a new life in Jesus.
HS focuses our attention on spiritual matters and then bear His Fruit.
Ultimately, walking in the Spirit is about being filled with the Spirit and following His guidance in our daily life.
Last week we focused on the Distractions that detour us from staying on the path of obedience. Distractions such as daily circumstance, lack, feelings of poor self-image, and Stress that causes us to shut down and not be the warriors that Christ has called us to. “More than overcomers!”
To be THANKFUL we need “I Am” scriptures to correct our stinking thinking...
I am God’s workmanship, created in Christ unto God’s works (Ephesians 2:10)
I am a new creation in Christ ( 2 Corinthians 5:17)
God has chosen me to be his very own. (Thessalonians 1:4 )
I am fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) (Ephesians 2:10)
I have the peace of God that passes all understanding (Phillippians 4:7)
I have the greater one living in me than he who is in this world (1 John 4:4)
I am far from oppression, and fear does not have a hold on me. (Isaiah 54:14)
I am born of God, and the enemy has no hold over me or my family. (1 John 5:18)
I have the mind of Christ and can live free from anxiety and depression. (1 Corinthians 2:16, Philippians 2:5)
My hands carry the power of the Holy Spirit to lay hands on the sick and they shall recover, to cast out generational curses and demonic spirits that influence me and my home. (Mark 16:17-18)
I have power over the enemy, and nothing shall harm me. (Luke 10:17-19)
My God will supply all my needs according to his riches in glory. (Philippians 4:19)
I can do all things through Christ. (Philippians 4:13)
I am firmly rooted, built up, established in my faith, and overflowing with gratitude. (Colossians 2:7)
I am called of God to be voice over His praise. (Psalm 66:8, 2 Timothy 1:9)
I am strengthened with all might according to God’s power. (Colossians 1:11)
I press on in my calling, towards God to the goal to receive my eternal prize. (Philippians 3:14)
God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)
I am a doer of the Word and blessed in my actions. (James 1:22-25)
I am an overcomer by the blood of the lamb, and the word of my testimony. (Revelation 12:11)
[Your Identity In Christ | 20 Scriptural Confessions To Remind You - The Pause Pursuit]
I AM THANKFUL!
GOD has not given us these blessing for us to Sit - Soak - Sour (according to Daily Hope Devotions with Rick Warren)
GOD has empowered us to be His hands and feet on the earth but first we are to Sit - Walk - Stand (according to Ephesians)
First theme is to “sit”
OUR POSITION IN CHRIST
This is seen in Ephesians chapter 1 and 2.
First, how God raised Jesus from the dead. verse 20
Ephesians 1:17–21 ESV
17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, 18 having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might 20 that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.
Jesus was raised from the dead and then sat at the Father’s right hand — it is finished.
Ephesians 2:6 KJV 1900
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
As we have said, it reveals the secret of a heavenly life.
This position signifies rest and authority.
Christianity does not begin with walking; it begins with sitting.
The Christian era began with Christ, of whom we are told that, when he had made purification of sins, he “sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high” (Hebrews 1:3).
Hebrews 1:3 ESV
3 He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
With equal truth we can say that the individual Christian life begins “in Christ”—that is to say, when by faith we see ourselves seated together with him in the heavens.
The second theme, "walk,"
OUR CONDUCT IN THE WORLD
Walkingis addressed in Ephesians 4:1, where Paul encourages believers to walk in a manner worthy of their calling.
Ephesians 4:1 ESV
1 I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called,
This signifies our daily conduct and behavior as Christians.
Walking implies action and movement,
representing how we live out our faith in practical terms.
It involves embodying the teachings of Christ in our interactions with others and in our daily lives.

Third theme “standing”

Our Stance Against Spiritual Opposition

The final theme, "stand," is found in Ephesians 6:11, where Paul instructs believers to put on the full armor of God to stand against the schemes of the devil. This theme emphasizes the spiritual battle that Christians face. Standing represents our readiness to defend our faith and resist spiritual attacks. It highlights the importance of being equipped with God's truth, righteousness, and faith to withstand challenges and temptations in our spiritual journey.
Ephesians 6:11 ESV
11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
In summary,
the sequence of sit, walk, stand in Ephesians illustrates the believer's journey:
we first sit in the assurance of our identity in Christ, then
we walk in a manner that reflects that identity, and finally,
we stand firm against spiritual challenges.
This framework provides a holistic understanding of how to live out the Christian FAITH, balancing our position in Christ with our practical conduct and spiritual resilience.
ACTION PLAN:
Sit at his Feet
Walk by his Spirit
Stand with his Power and Assurance
IMPLIMENTAION:
Reading and pondering His Word
Understanding the working of the Holy Spirit.
Go forth in the Power of His Might to stand against the wiles of the enemy
Wiles...
“devious or cunning stratagems employed in manipulating or persuading someone to do what one wants”
IF WE ARE TRULY THANKFUL, WE WILL be busy about the Father’s business.
Let’s not let the enemy out flank us, and distract us from the Father’s Plan for our lives.
I AM THANKFUL is an Offensive position not one of mediocre living and passiveness.
Let’s Pray
