Jim Ellior was considered too gifted to serve the Auca Indians in Ecuador- Consider the call from the throne above. 'Go ye, and from round about, come over and help us.'
And even the call from damned souls below, Send Lazarus to my brothers that they come not to this place.'
Impelled, then, by these voices, I dare not stay home while these Indians perish. So, what if the well-fed church in the homeland needs stirring? They have the Scriptures, Moses and the Prophets and a whole lot more. Their condemnation is written on their bankbooks and in the dust on their Bible covers.
American believers have sold their lives to the service of mammon, and God has His rightful way of dealing with those who succumb to the spirit of Laodicea."
Elliot and four other heroes gave their lives for the Auca Indians.
David Livingstone, who went into the heart of Africa, wrote a letter to the London Missionary Society:
"So powerfully convinced am I that it is the will of the Lord that I should go to Africa, I will go no matter who opposes me." Later, after countless afflictions, he still wouldn't return home, even though others, like Henry M. Stanley, tried to persuade him to do so. Livingstone told Stanley, "God has called me to Africa, and I am staying here."

As follow Christ You have to make difficult decisions and respect others to do the same.

Paul trust the will of The Lord as he is determined to get to Jerusalem even through the pleas of the Christians and the warnings of the prophet.

Listen to the plea of the compassionate companions.

Persistent
Concern of the Christians
Not to Suffer
Matthew 16:21–23 “21 From then on Jesus began to point out to his disciples that it was necessary for him to go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders, chief priests, and scribes, be killed, and be raised the third day. 22 Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him, “Oh no, Lord! This will never happen to you!” 23 Jesus turned and told Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance to me because you’re not thinking about God’s concerns but human concerns.””
Proverbs 15:22 “22 Plans fail when there is no counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.”
Proverbs 20:18 “18 Finalize plans with counsel, and wage war with sound guidance.”
Love people but love Jesus more.

Hear the warnings of the predicted prophecies.

Purpose of the Prophet
1 Kings 11:29–32 “29 During that time, the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite met Jeroboam on the road as Jeroboam came out of Jerusalem. Now Ahijah had wrapped himself with a new cloak, and the two of them were alone in the open field. 30 Then Ahijah took hold of the new cloak he had on, tore it into twelve pieces, 31 and said to Jeroboam, “Take ten pieces for yourself, for this is what the Lord God of Israel says: ‘I am about to tear the kingdom out of Solomon’s hand. I will give you ten tribes, 32 but one tribe will remain his for the sake of my servant David and for the sake of Jerusalem, the city I chose out of all the tribes of Israel.”
Isaiah 20:2–6 “2 during that time the Lord had spoken through Isaiah son of Amoz, saying, “Go, take off your sackcloth and remove the sandals from your feet,” and he did that, going stripped and barefoot—3 the Lord said, “As my servant Isaiah has gone stripped and barefoot three years as a sign and omen against Egypt and Cush, 4 so the king of Assyria will lead the captives of Egypt and the exiles of Cush, young and old alike, stripped and barefoot, with bared buttocks—to Egypt’s shame. 5 Those who made Cush their hope and Egypt their boast will be dismayed and ashamed. 6 And the inhabitants of this coastland will say on that day, ‘Look, this is what has happened to those we relied on and fled to for help to rescue us from the king of Assyria! Now, how will we escape?’ ””
Jeremiah 13:1–11 “1 This is what the Lord said to me: “Go and buy yourself a linen undergarment and put it on. But do not put it in water.” 2 So I bought underwear as the Lord instructed me and put it on. 3 Then the word of the Lord came to me a second time: 4 “Take the underwear that you bought and are wearing, and go at once to the Euphrates and hide it in a rocky crevice.” 5 So I went and hid it by the Euphrates, as the Lord commanded me. 6 A long time later the Lord said to me, “Go at once to the Euphrates and get the underwear that I commanded you to hide there.” 7 So I went to the Euphrates and dug up the underwear and got it from the place where I had hidden it, but it was ruined—of no use at all. 8 Then the word of the Lord came to me: 9 “This is what the Lord says: Just like this I will ruin the great pride of both Judah and Jerusalem. 10 These evil people, who refuse to listen to me, who follow the stubbornness of their own hearts, and who have followed other gods to serve and bow in worship—they will be like this underwear, of no use at all. 11 Just as underwear clings to one’s waist, so I fastened the whole house of Israel and of Judah to me”—this is the Lord’s declaration—“so that they might be my people for my fame, praise, and glory, but they would not obey.”
You will suffer
Luke 18:31–33 “31 Then he took the Twelve aside and told them, “See, we are going up to Jerusalem. Everything that is written through the prophets about the Son of Man will be accomplished. 32 For he will be handed over to the Gentiles, and he will be mocked, insulted, spit on; 33 and after they flog him, they will kill him, and he will rise on the third day.””

Trust in the will of The Lord.

Christian Courage
Luke 22:42 “42 “Father, if you are willing, take this cup away from me—nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.””
Words of the wise
Self Denial
Trust in yourself and you are doomed to disappointment. Trust in your friends and they will die and leave you. Trust in money and you may have it taken away from you. Trust in reputation and some slanderous tongues will blast it. But trust in God and you are never to be confounded in time or in eternity.
Dwight Lyman Moody (Evangelist)
Dont waste your life worryin about dieing.
The true way to handle a matter wisely is to trust in the Lord.
Charles Spurgeon
It is not our trust that keeps us, but the God in whom we trust who keeps us.
