Three Little Pigs

Do you know the story of the “Three Little Pigs?” What does story tell us? Any insight did you get from the story? The story tells us that even though it takes time, it is important to be careful and meticulous for everything we do. The third or youngest pig built a house with hard brick and took longer time than its brothers. However, the effort and time that it took were worth because the pig could resist the attack from the wolf and protect its brothers. Likewise, Jesus tells us about building a church in today’s story.

Who is a Wise Man?

Let’s look at verse 24. Jesus says that a wise man is who hears the words of Jesus and put them into action. This is compared as a building house on the rock. Verse 25 adds more on this. Even if the rain comes down, the flood comes in, or the wind blows and beats the house, it does not fall because it has a foundation on the rock. Do you know what does it mean by building a house on a rock? It means the house has a strong foundation that it will not breakdown no matter what kind of troubles it encounters. It is compared to a believers who listen to the word of God and live out in their life. Because the Bible is so strong, the believers will not be shaken no matter of any hardships they will experience.

Who is a Foolish Man?

On the other hand, the next verses talk about a foolish man buliding a house on sand. Let’s read verse 26. Who is the everyone here? The person who hears the word of Jesus but does not practice.
