Faith Industries Devo 1:30

Theme:

Wisdom and righteousness bring lasting favor and blessings, while laziness and dishonesty lead to loss and shame.
Proverbs 10:1–16 NKJV
1 The proverbs of Solomon: A wise son makes a glad father, But a foolish son is the grief of his mother. 2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing, But righteousness delivers from death. 3 The Lord will not allow the righteous soul to famish, But He casts away the desire of the wicked. 4 He who has a slack hand becomes poor, But the hand of the diligent makes rich. 5 He who gathers in summer is a wise son; He who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame. 6 Blessings are on the head of the righteous, But violence covers the mouth of the wicked. 7 The memory of the righteous is blessed, But the name of the wicked will rot. 8 The wise in heart will receive commands, But a prating fool will fall. 9 He who walks with integrity walks securely, But he who perverts his ways will become known. 10 He who winks with the eye causes trouble, But a prating fool will fall. 11 The mouth of the righteous is a well of life, But violence covers the mouth of the wicked. 12 Hatred stirs up strife, But love covers all sins. 13 Wisdom is found on the lips of him who has understanding, But a rod is for the back of him who is devoid of understanding. 14 Wise people store up knowledge, But the mouth of the foolish is near destruction. 15 The rich man’s wealth is his strong city; The destruction of the poor is their poverty. 16 The labor of the righteous leads to life, The wages of the wicked to sin.

1. Wisdom Brings Joy and Honor (v.1–3)

Proverbs 10:1–3 NKJV
1 The proverbs of Solomon: A wise son makes a glad father, But a foolish son is the grief of his mother. 2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing, But righteousness delivers from death. 3 The Lord will not allow the righteous soul to famish, But He casts away the desire of the wicked.
A wise person brings blessing and honor to others as well as himself, while foolishness causes grief to all.
True success is not found in dishonest gain — God sustains the righteous.

2. Diligence Produces Prosperity (v.4–5)

Proverbs 10:4–5 NKJV
4 He who has a slack hand becomes poor, But the hand of the diligent makes rich. 5 He who gathers in summer is a wise son; He who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame.
Hard work leads to growth and provision; laziness results in loss.
A diligent worker anticipates seasons and prepares ahead.

3. Righteous Speech Protects and Builds (v.6–11)

Proverbs 10:6–11 NKJV
6 Blessings are on the head of the righteous, But violence covers the mouth of the wicked. 7 The memory of the righteous is blessed, But the name of the wicked will rot. 8 The wise in heart will receive commands, But a prating fool will fall. 9 He who walks with integrity walks securely, But he who perverts his ways will become known. 10 He who winks with the eye causes trouble, But a prating fool will fall. 11 The mouth of the righteous is a well of life, But violence covers the mouth of the wicked.
Words of the wise bring blessing; the mouth of the wicked destroys.
Integrity in communication preserves others and reputation.
Speak truthfully, avoid gossip, and use words that strengthen rather than divide.

4. Integrity Outlasts Deception (v.12–15)

Proverbs 10:12–15 NKJV
12 Hatred stirs up strife, But love covers all sins. 13 Wisdom is found on the lips of him who has understanding, But a rod is for the back of him who is devoid of understanding. 14 Wise people store up knowledge, But the mouth of the foolish is near destruction. 15 The rich man’s wealth is his strong city; The destruction of the poor is their poverty.
Hatred stirs conflict, but love covers offenses.
Wise people store up knowledge; fools expose their foolishness.
Handling conflict with humility and grace builds trust and stability.

5. Righteous Labor Leads to Life (v.16)

Proverbs 10:16 NKJV
16 The labor of the righteous leads to life, The wages of the wicked to sin.
The fruit of righteousness is life-giving and enduring.
The reward of wickedness is temporary and destructive.
Every task done with honesty and excellence has eternal value, even in daily labor.

Application Questions:

Do my daily actions reflect wisdom or foolishness?
Do my words bring blessing, encouragement, and truth to others?
How do I handle mistakes — with humility and correction, or with excuses and pride?
