David said: ‘Who is still left in the house of Saul so I can have (this is a w + yiqtol) mercy with him because of (preposition or conjunction. it depends if it goes with a noun (cause) or a verb (purpose)) Jonatan?’
There was (existential meaning. we can also take it as a possessive) a servant (this is an existent. is always indeterminate) of the house of Saul, (parenthetical disjunctive waw) his name was Ziba (nominal clause). They called him towards David and the king said to him: ‘Are you Ziba?’ He said: ‘your servant’.
The king said: ‘Is still someone (existencial clause, question negative form. JM 160m) for the house of Saul (Genitive-cs) so that I can have with him the mercy of God?’ (maybe this ‘of God’ is a genitive of quality) Ziba said to the king: ‘there is still a crippled (genitive of limitation, crippled in his feet) son of Jonatan’ (another existencial clause, we need an existent in the existencial clause)
The king said to him: ‘where is he?’ Ziba said to him: ‘He is in the house of Makir, son of Ammiel, in Lo-Dabar’
David the king sent to take him from the house of Makir, son of Ammiel, from Lo-Dabar.
And came Mephibosheth, son of Jonatan, son of Saul towards David and he fell on his face and he bowed down and David said: ‘Mephibosheth’ and he said: ‘I am your servant’
David said to him: ‘Don’t be afraid because I want to have mercy on you because of Jonatan, your father. I have made bring to you all the field of Saul your father, and you will eat at my table forever’.
He bowed down and said: ‘who is your servant that (consecutive nuance) you turned your head to a dead dog like me?’
The king called Ziba, servant of Saul, and he said to him: ‘All (Direct Object) that was of Saul and his house, give (qatal performative. behind this there is an authority that can say what happen) it to your lord’.
You will serve him in the land, you (resumptive pronoun, because the person is implied in the verb, is a pleonastic pronoun, not a suffix) and your children, and your servants, you will bring (weqataltis, imperatives, there are commands. and you will become (consecutive weqatalti) a son to your lord. (attention this is waw + qatal!! not wayyiqtol. adversative waw) They ate bread and Mephi son of your servant, he will eat in my table. (parenthetical disjunctive waw) Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants. (2 Sam 9: 10)(REVISAR ESTE VERSÍCULO)
Ziba said to the king: ‘Like everything that my lord, the king, has ordered to his servant, thus do your servant, so that Mephi eat on his table like one of the children of the king’.
Mephi has a small son called Mica, and all the servants dwelling in the house of Ziba were his.
Mephi stayed in Jerusalem, because he eat everyday at the table of the king, he was lame of the two legs.
